Role Overview 

Using your knowledge of Lean tools & techniques to identify and eliminate waste and non- value-added activity (NVA) to improve current manufacturing processes to ensure products are produced cost effectively and to the appropriate Quality & H&S standards.

In addition focus to be given to the wider team to support and develop.

 Duties & Key Responsibilities
 

  • To identify & eliminate waste from the manufacturing process to maximise operational and financial performance.
  • To support the roll out of 6S across the business
  • To improve the shopfloor visual management
  • To coach and mentor colleagues in lean tools & techniques
  • To review and improve company Processes & Procedures
  • To facilitate the use of problem-solving techniques (DMAIC, 8D)
    • To measure and use data to drive improvements.
    • Collaborating with other stakeholders to enhance productivity and staff satisfaction.
    • To Focus and support the cultural transformation

Health, Safety & Environment 

  1. Ensure that you comply with the requirements of the company Health, Safety and Environmental Policy.
  2. Promote a safe working environment by directly challenging or reporting unsafe or environmentally damaging practices and hazardous working conditions.
  3. Be observant at all times and where applicable make suggestions on health, safety and environmental improvements that can or should be made.
  4. Support environmental sustainability initiatives within the company such as segregating waste and switching off electrical equipment where appropriate and not in use.

Qualifications 
 

  1. Degree in a Business-related discipline
  2. Qualification in Lean Manufacturing (such as Six Sigma)
  3. Knowledge of excel, word and power point
  4. Full UK Drivers Licence
  5. SAP Experience & user knowledge preferred.
