Contracts Manager – Aerospace
12-month Fixed Term Contract, Derby (hybrid working)
Jackson Hogg are pleased to be working with an exciting aerospace manufacturer in the Derby region in the search for a Contracts Manager. This role will be based in Derby, with the option of flexible hybrid working.
The company is global leader in aerospace manufacturing, serving OEM customers and key tier one aerostructure suppliers. They also treat and assemble metallic components parts and sub-assemblies from hard and soft metals in a range of sizes from small to very large, long bed components, all from their international facilities in Europe & Asia.
They are seeking an induvial to join the contracts function on a maternity cover basis of up to 12 months. Your role will be that of Contracts Manager with the objective of ensuring that the business’ internal contract functions and processes are maintained, whilst at the same time ensuring contractual competitiveness within the marketplace
The contracts’ function is based at the global head office in Derby, UK. The function is responsible for providing contract support to the business development, sales, and sourcing functions, as well as acting as single point of interface for contract support and management of associated documents.
Responsibilities:
Non-Disclosure Agreements
- To maintain the businesses NDA registers and files
- To review, in a timely fashion, incoming NDA’s from customers and other parties and to provide, where appropriate, counter mark ups and wording amendments and support in the closure and agreement of the same.
- To review any changes proposed by suppliers to the company’s standard NDA template and support in the closure and agreement of the same.
- To obtain internal sign off and signature.
- To maintain the NDA template to ensure it evolves with any business changes and / or legislative changes.
New Business Proposals:
- To review and understand the key commercial conditions of the relevant RFP, including any contractual documents and framework.
- To work through and review such documents and ensure an appropriate response, including mark-up etc, is put together to support the RFP bid response, working alongside other members of the bid team and colleagues where required.
- To ensure that any relevant contract appendices etc are reviewed and / or completed by relevant departmental colleagues.
- To play a lead role in communication with the relevant customers and internally as part of the RFP process with regards to the contract, its mark up and potential negotiation through to award.
- To prepare Executive Contract summaries for successful bids for approval in line with the company authority matrix.
- Contract Register and Database
- To maintain the contract, register to ensure it is kept up to date and files are maintained
Contract Renewals / Amendments
- To review contract renewals / documents and / or amendments to ensure that they are executed correctly and capture the correct detail, particularly in relation to item prices, durations and lead times.
- To manage any contract changes and ensure they understood and reviewed by relevant business area’s.
- To prepare Executive Summaries for approval inline with the company authority matrix.
Sourcing & Supplier Contracts:
- To support in the management of existing supplier contracts, including amendments and renewals and claim / dispute resolution.
- To create where required new contract templates in support of strategic sourcing tenders and play a lead role in any subsequent negotiation through to award, ensuring that customer flow down terms are incorporated as required.
- To prepare Executive Summaries for approval inline with the company authority matrix.
Commercial Analysis:
- To support, where required, in the preparation of various data analysis for existing contracts.
General Terms & Conditions:
- To assist in ensuring that the businesses standard terms and conditions of sale and purchase are maintained and reflect both industry and regulatory changes and, in the case of purchase terms and conditions, to ensure that the terms are inclusive and kept up to date with major customer flow down requirements.
Internal Audits
- To ensure compliance with internal standards;
- Regular and sometimes spot audits at the business units to ensure compliance with internal standards;
- The candidates ability to summarise issues effectively and clearly and to propose resolutions is critical
Person Specification:
- Must be able to demonstrate a good track record of contracts and/or commercial work in the Aerospace industry.
- Must have a proven background in contract drafting and negotiation
- Will possess drive and energy, be confident and have a pro-active nature.
- Will possess the strong IT skills that will be required for this role, in particular MS Office.
- Will have strong numerical attributes and be commercially astute.
- Will be able analyse data and report accordingly.
- Must be flexible and have the willingness to travel from time to time, sometimes overseas, and at short notice.
- Must have the ability to build and maintain professional relationships internally and externally
- The successful candidate will have good written and verbal communication skills which can be adapted to suit a varying level of contact
- Must show attention to detail and be accurate
- Fluency in French, German, or Mandarin would be an advantage but not a necessity.
Salary – Competitive, Depending on experience
Contract – Full-time, 12-month Fixed Term Contract
