Estimator
Jackson Hogg are supporting client a leading manufacturer in Durham in their search for an Estimator to join their commercial team.
Responsibilities:
– Manage and oversee the estimating process for construction projects
– Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine project requirements
– Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimates
– Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs
– Analyze project scope changes and provide updated estimates as needed
– Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing
– Coordinate with the procurement team to obtain quotes and negotiate pricing
– Provide guidance and support to the estimating team throughout the bidding process
– Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards
Qualifications:
– Proven experience in construction estimating or related role – Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes
– Proficient in using estimating software and tools – Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
– Strong attention to detail and accuracy
– Effective communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
– Strong organizational and time management skills
