Jackson Hogg is delighted to be working with a leading manufacturer of (large scale) low temperature and cryogenic storage tanks.
Instrument Designer Key Responsibilities:
Production of design documentation associated with instrument systems:
- loop diagrams
- schematics
- termination diagrams
- detail/general arrangement drawings
- instrument layout drawings
- instrument cable routing plans
- cable schedules
- instrument MTOs
Production of design documentation under direction of an engineer or principle designer:
- control systems architecture drawings
- instrument block diagrams
- instrument indexes
- I/O schedules
- hook-up sketches
- electrical control systems details
- packaged equipment interface wiring requirements
- instrument equipment installation details
Liaising with discipline engineers and other discipline designers to ensure all design interfaces are adequately covered
- Carrying out design activities including 3D modelling using appropriate computer software as required, typically: AutoCAD and SmartPlant Instruments (SPI)
- Learn and develop capabilities in the use of SmartPlant Instruments package (SPI)
Insturment Engineer Key Requirements:
- A minimum of ONC or equivalent in Instrumentation Engineering.
- NVQ Level 2 in AutoCAD
- 2 years’ experience as an instrument designer within the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Industries including hazardous areas (ATEX).
- Basic knowledge of codes, standards and accepted working practices with respect to instrument design in the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Industries (based upon previous experience).
- Experience of 3D modelling.
- Experience of practical installation or maintenance of industrial instrument or electrical systems.
