Jackson Hogg are delighted to be working alongside a Global Manufacturing Plc based in Wynyard to appoint a Management Reporting Accountant.

Job responsibilities include:

Management reporting system month-end close:

Manage the end-to-end monthly close of the management reporting results, ensuring they are timely, materially accurate and aligned with US GAAP and our Client's reporting standards, using experience and judgment where necessary and liaising with key contributors (ASSC, Site Controllers, non-centralised sites, Group Costing etc).

Using accounting and business knowledge, identify any corrections required at their source and potential areas for process or system improvements.  Conclude process and systems investigations directly with Systems Accountant.  Define any corrections needed and liaise with the appropriate people across departments to ensure they are entered timely.

Provide management and segmental reporting leadership to the Corporate Finance Phase 2 meetings.

 

Segment analysis:

Provide variance analysis of monthly results against forecast and expectation to gain comfort and validation of the business Adjusted EBITDA result, including validation with the Business Unit (BU) Finance Directors.  Finalise the results including all appropriate controls and populate supplemental reporting databases as appropriate, ensuring alignment with FP&A expectations.

Update BU forecasts to the supplemental reporting databases.

 

Reporting:

Provide routine and ad-hoc analysis of segment reporting, special items and restructuring, ensuring source and reporting systems are appropriately updated.  Compile special items and restructuring forecasts from BU Finance quarterly and ad-hoc as needed.  Obtain audit support for any new restructuring provisions.

Lead and develop internal management reporting, including the producing the monthly Corporate Finance reporting pack and reporting variances against budget and forecast.

Prepare reports and schedules for SEC compliance reporting.

 

Additional responsibilities:

Retain transactional ownership of the central consolidation adjustment company X999, maintaining all necessary internal controls and reviews.  Liaise with Internal and external auditors on contents of financial statements.

Perform US GAAP reviews of new and amended purchasing contracts for significant accounting matters, ensuring that all matters are accounted for correctly.

Conduct quarterly confirmation that cut-off recognition of ore purchases is materially accurate, obtaining input as needed from Purchasing.

Lead various centralised finance processes, including coordinating the annual US GAAP Pension update.

Provide support for development projects with particular emphasis on management and segment reporting, liaising as needed with IT and developers.

 

Candidate requirements:

  • Degree from an accredited university or equivalent international degree.
  • Qualified in a primary accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5-10 years’ post-qualification experience in a central accounting function
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • SAP R3 experience.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong personal organisation skills.
