Job title: Pharmaceutical Technologist – Packaging
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

The Role:
Primarily involves evaluating performance and compliance of existing packaging lines and specifying requirements of the entire packaging process for new product introduction, new processes, or new equipment.
• Deliver high levels of quality packed stock to customers through effective controls of the packaging resource
• Ensure compliance with best practices in GMP and EHS requirements
• Provide technical support in the packaging operations
The Skills / Experience:
Essential:
• Manufacturing, packing and/or testing experience within the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry, fine chemical or food sector
• Knowledge of the basic principles of tablet/capsule primary and secondary packaging.
• Self-motivated and enthusiastic to learn
• Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organisational skills
• Ability to influence multiple stakeholder groups
• Ability to solve problems, with an analytical approach
• Proven ability to be able to prioritise tasks
• Strong IT skills, including Excel spread sheets
Desirable:
• Knowledge of the GMP pharmaceutical regulations i.e. Eudralex volume 4/Orange Guide
• Knowledge of the generics industry/ service providers
• Knowledge of the Falsified Medicines Directive (FMD) and various track and trace systems
• Knowledge of supply chain management
Qualifications:
Essential:
• GCSE level English, Mathematics
• At least 2 years technical experience within the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry, fine chemical or food sector
Desirable:
• A level or equivalent Level 3 qualification in a Science based discipline
