Jackson Hogg is delighted to be partnered with an exciting growing manufacturing organisation based in County Durham on the appointment of Procurement Director.
About the Job
Reporting to the MD, this newly created Procurement Director position will have full ownership of the procurement function in delivering strategic and commercial leadership as well as ensuring operational excellent and best procurement practice.
Commercially astute and as an excellent communicator, the Procurement Director will be responsible for shaping the site’s procurement strategy and category management plans through market data and customer analysis, setting sourcing strategies, new supplier selection, rationalisation of suppliers and contract negotiation inline with achieving business requirements and goals.

This would suit a driven and ambitious Procurement leader who enjoys driving change, best practice as well as designing and implementing solutions to improve processes, performance, quality of goods and services and cost.
Other desirable traits / experience are:
- Previous experience within a Senior Procurement leadership position
- Previous manufacturing sector experience
- Experienced shaping and driving procurement strategy and category management plans
- Proven success as a leader with experience mentoring and motivated teams
- High proficiency working with excel and MRP (SAP ideally)
- Experience of MRP implementation projects would be advantageous
