Quantity Surveyor
Location: Middlesbrough
Reporting to: Commercial Manager
Direct reports: 2 Trainee Quantity Surveyors
Working hours: 8:30am-5pm Mon-Thurs, 8:30am-4:30pm Fri
Introduction:
Jackson Hogg is pleased to be working with a construction service provider who are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Middlesbrough. The purpose of the role is to manage construction project costs and ensure it is completed within budget and as economically as possible.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparation and review of tender, contract, sub-contract, appointment, sub-appointment and Bills of Quantities documents
- Project costing and price forecasting
- Tracking design/construction work changes and adjusting project costs, managing Sub-Contractors, and recouping income from the client
- Procurement of the services of Sub-Contractors and Professionals
- Measurement and valuation of the works done on site
- Liaison with the client, Site Managers, project Managers, Engineers, and Designers
Skills and experience:
- Educated to degree-level (or equivalent qualification) with at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Driven, ambitious personality with a strong work ethic
- Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and people management skills
- Strong MS Excel skills and capacity to learn specialist software
