Jackson Hogg has an excellent and unique opportunity for a Senior Network Engineer to join a unique consultancy firm and play a pivotal role in the growth of their network offering, which will be a flagship area of growth in 2023.

Role: Senior Network Engineer
Salary: £45,000 -£55,000 (flexible)
Location: Manchester/ Stockton-on-Tees + travel to Data Centres

This role will see you taking ownership of the internet service offering, acting occasionally as the 3rd line technically support but spending the vast majority of your time working on client solutions and new projects. You’ll have the opportunity to move increasingly towards network design and architecture and be the only dedicated SME on networking, giving you great responsibility and influence into key business decisions.
You will need to have strong prior experience of working in BGP within an ISP environment and will need experience setting up MPLS environments and complex WI-FI deployments. This company are a Juniper house, so you will need extensive Juniper Routing & Switching experience as well as broader experience with the Juniper suite of products.
The ideal candidate will have a background in the service provider industry and strong independent experience of managing network focused projects from conception to client deliver. You must have experience in an ISP environment, Juniper networks and MPLS and you must also be ambitious, driven and a confident self-learner.
Skills:
- A relevant IT Degree or equivalent experience
- Expertise in Juniper networks incl. Routing & Switching
- Excellent experience working with BGP in an ISP environment
- Strong MPLS experience ideally including set up and design
- Prior experience working within a Network Service Provider
- Strong troubleshooting and supper experience incl. SLA’s and ticket systems
- Ideally you will be qualified in Juniper to a professional level (or equivalent experience)
- It will be highly beneficial to be experience and/or certified in Palo Alto
