Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Site Manager will be responsible for managing specific sites and site teams.

Control of contractors is a main function of this role, ensuring that continuous working is achieved through fluid delivery scheduling and monitoring of site. Also, resolution of issues must be made on a frequent basis, this is often ad hoc and progressive thinking is required to resolve situations in a timely & cost-effective manner.

Project reporting and support functions for the project team ensuring effective delivery for the project you are working within, as well as for providing leadership and management skills to both the subcontract teams on your site and assistance to the wider projects team. This will include assisting the projects team in the start-up, day to day running and monitoring, and closure of the project your are working within.

The role also drives project delivery during installations, managing all site resource, liaising with client and PM whilst controlling contractors as well as picking up additions, delays and amendments as and when they occur. Control of all site documentation inclusive of H&S file and all CDM requirements are also encompassed within the position and method statements, risk assessment and site audits must be carried out on an ad hoc basis.

The Role 

  • Overseeing site-based project progress daily.

  • Manage site teams, service engineers & site supervisors.

  • Create, manage, and monitor all site-based documentation

  • Manage client & contractor relations from a site management perspective

  • Define monitor & report on status of milestones & deliverables

  • Audit project deliverables to ensure they align with both project and overall business schedules.

  • Facilitate team, client & contractor meetings effectively.

  • Minimise exposure to risk regarding site work

Responsibilities

  • Appraisal of site risk assessment document and creation of risk plan to mitigate some of the risk

  • Creation or agreement of detailed site program, inclusive of all site and commissioning works.

  • Contract negotiations both client & contractor

  • Creation, management & updating of H&S files & all site CDM requirements.

  • Scheduling – all areas of site work

  • Monitor / control and provide periodic status reports to Project Manager and advice to the project team on development progress, schedule, possible risks, necessary modifications of methodology, and any other issues regarding the project’s alignment with the site methodology employed.

  • Facilitate client meeting whilst reporting progress against program, as well as any client on costs, delays or issues.

  • Review and manage reports from site representatives and other interested parties and prepare responses and actions as appropriate.

  • Resolve any issues with regard quality on active sites as well as sites with active warranty.

  • Check contractual documents to ensure fulfilment of requirements and advise as necessary.

  • Manage teams to achieve site sign off of key deliverables as required by Project Management

  • Develop lasting relationships with client personnel & evaluate and appraise clients’ needs

  • Implement/drive areas for improvement of internal processes along with strategy to improve process for future site works
