Jackson Hogg Procurement division are working exclusively with an organisation in Northumberland on the appointment of a Subcontract Buyer to join their purchasing team on a full time and permanent basis. The salary on offer is £45,000 per annum.
This role will be based on site with working hours of Monday to Thursday 08:00-16:30 and Friday 08:00-15:30 with some flexibility to work from home as and when required.
CIPS funding is on offer as part of this package upon successful completion of probationary period.
The Role:
- Managing 1 direct report
- Maintaining relationships with embedded partners
- Completing the correct due diligence of SubContractors including CHAS, Insurances, H&S Policy etc and keeping track of this information
- Negotiation (Terms and Conditions, Best Value for Money, Payment)
- Compiling enquiry information from drawings, specifications and documentation working with the project and estimating team pulling together the scope of works.
- Completing adjudication of all quotations received for work packages to make sure the right SubContractor has been chosen for the works.
- Compiling NEC or JCT pass down contracts from the Client to the SubContractor (contracts can range from £10k - £1million+), Letters of Intent and Site Instructions.
- Completing Purchase Orders
- Compiling all required Collateral Warranties from SubContractors
- Liaising with staff in other departments including Finance, Quality, Design Coordination, BIM
- Providing and sending out information and reports when needed, provide accurate reporting in line with company requirements to weekly Procurement meetings, including updates on the stage of each work package from enquiry to contract placement
- Establish close working relationships with site teams on each project
- Ensure efficient thorough planning and organisation for the department including the planning and preparation of meetings, conferences and conference calls whether internal or external
The Person/Specification:
- Demonstrable procurement experience with subcontractor services
- CIPS qualified would be advantageous but not essential
- An understanding of NEC and JCT contracts would be advantageous
- Have the capacity to deliver a diversity of requirements within a working day
- Have a flexible approach to workload
- Have demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, excellent organisational skills and the ability to multi-task
- Have demonstrated a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Foster excellent relations with all internal and external stakeholders from staff to clients.
