Payroll Officer
Location: Killingworth
Salary: Competitive
Contract: 6-Month Fixed Term, Part time
I am working with a small, family-run business with a strong team culture, looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to manage weekly and monthly payroll processes. If you thrive in a close-knit environment and have experience with Sage 50 Payroll, I’d love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly and monthly payroll accurately and on time using Sage 50 Payroll
- Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, tax, NI, pensions, and statutory deductions
- Maintain payroll records and ensure accurate reporting
- Handle payroll queries from employees and resolve any discrepancies
- Process new starters, leavers, and any changes to employee details
- Administer pensions, holiday pay, and other payroll-related benefits
- Support finance with payroll reporting and reconciliation tasks
- Stay up to date with payroll legislation and ensure compliance
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in weekly and monthly payroll processing
- Strong knowledge of Sage 50 Payroll
- Understanding of payroll legislation, tax codes, and statutory deductions
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in a small business environment
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
