Jackson Hogg Procurement division are working closely with an engineering and projects delivery business in Sunderland on the appointment of a Procurement Lead to add to their team.
This is a full time and permanent role offering up to £50,000 per annum DOE.
Working hours are typically Monday to Thursday 08:00-16:30 and Fridays 08:00-14:30 but flexibility can be offered. The position also offers hybrid working.
The Procurement Lead will ensure supply-based terms, scope of works, cost, and deliverables are aligned to project and business demands when negotiating. As the key contact for all key suppliers, it is essential that the Procurement Lead has a clear understanding of the contractual requirements and procurement strategy from bids through to contract award and executes in line with agreed strategies.
The Role:

Build and maintain strong relationships across the supply chain, sourcing new opportunities to maintain competitive business awards.

Review project requirements for specification and supply, collating and coordinating the relevant information required for RFQs, presenting options, clear, concise and accurate, to enable key supply decisions to be made quickly and accurately as required.

Accurately Interpret the project deliverables and requirements, cost, budget, scope of works, delivery requirements and expenditure profiles.

Create and manage supply costing profiles to aid project cash flow projections.

Create and manage monthly Plan v Actual reports on procurement, escalating risk to delivering against plan.

Control and record all information sent to suppliers for final pricing, ensuring correct revisions and accurate technical details are shared with 3rd parties.

Complete gap analysis of projects demands against missing information required to successfully complete RFQs and or purchase orders.

Attend project reviews as required to communicate the procurement Plan v Actual position, escalating any risks or concerns or requirements of other depts in a timely manner

Assist the Project Support team with the creation of Purchase Requisitions / Purchase Orders at busy intervals.

Maintain registers and trackers such as Request for Quotation and Purchase Orders placed

Log, track and respond to Supply Chain queries in an efficient manner to prevent project impact including delays.

Drive continuous improvement, leading Supply Chain Non-Conformance root cause and corrective actions.

Monitor, track and log socioeconomic impacts to raw materials, fabrications and global delivery methods of supplied goods including capacity, pricing and availability.

Assist the Bids team in pricing, supplier capacities and availability to ensure accurate Bids are submitted maintaining Client satisfaction from Bid stage through to successful award.
The Person:

Extensive procurement experience, preferably in either construction or fast-paced heavy engineering sectors, with experience of high value OEM and structural steel procurement

Proven experience of successfully negotiating contracts, pricing, terms and conditions

Understanding of market trends, and an ability to source based on maximizing opportunity (cost, lead time & quality) while minimizing risk

Sound understanding of the UOMs used within the construction industry to ensure supplier competitiveness

Relationship builder, supplier development experience

End to end supply chain experience, total delivered cost and knowledge of logistics – cost and impacts related to global sourcing

The ability to collaborate, fostering close and trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders by using excellent verbal and written communication skills

CIPS qualification, working towards or be willing to work towards
