Jackson Hogg is delighted to be recruiting for a Mechnical Crane Superintendent to join one of the UK's largest port groups based in Middlesbrough. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the ensuring maintainence and repair of cranes and ancillary plant equipment, with compliance to OEM and legislative requirements and all company policies and Regulations.You will also take lead responsibility for cranes and associated equipment support across responsible sites and health and safety. You will resolve asset breakdowns and identify the cuase of faults and defects to minimise downtime. This role is predominantly an office based role and will suit someone who is seeking to utilise their NDT and operational skills to assist with the management of day to day tasks for the NDT Technical Authority, as well as maintain excellent services to clients across the chemicals, pharmaceuticals, O&G, Bulk storage and distribution and renewables sectors. 
 
The ideal candidate will have experience working within non-destructive testing and currently obtain a PCN level 2 or higher in ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, dye penetrant testing (eddy current flaw protection desirable). You must have proven experience leading NDT jobs and identifying complex defects, as well as excellent report writing skills.

Jackson Hogg are excited to be working with a growing FMCG client based in Peterlee in their search for a Commercial Manager. You will be responsible for a team of 2 people and you will work closely with Sales, Finance and Procurement.

Key Responsibilities of the Commercial Manager 

<ul>
	<li>Taking responsibility for all product commerciality, acknowledging macro environmental factors acting proactively to counteract potential risks.
	<li>Work as a link between procurement, finance & sales to ensure consistency and shared direction.
	<li>Putting together bids to win new business working with multiple stakeholder groups.
	<li>Working closely with the senior team to negotiate and agree contracts.
	<li>Recognise business opportunities to maximise potential and drive profitability.
	<li>Review and continually review price banding structures to ensure fit for purpose.
	<li>Analyse low profit areas and take proactive action.
	<li>Work with the commercial analyst to ensure all outliers are identified and resolved.
	<li>Effective leadership and mentoring skills to support young team.
	<li>Supplier relationship/interaction to build rapport.
	<li>Work with procurement to secure and implement promotional activity and ensure link to finance for claims.

Purpose of the role 
Assist and support the Commercial team and the wider business with tender opportunities, sale and purchase contract reviews, confidentiality agreements, other ad-hoc contracts as well as general commercial administration

Clean energy without limits

The organisation’s headcount plan was ambitious, and required an expanded recruitment capability to deliver it, but with varying recruitment volumes throughout the year, they needed a flexible solution. Geopura considered hiring an in-house recruiter, but the niche roles they were looking to fill, combined with the variability of their recruitment requirements and limited employer brand within the market meant that this solution wasn’t viable. They also considered expanding their use of recruitment agencies, but the unpredictable costs involved in this were difficult to align with their plans.

Geopura’s growth was starting to accelerate in 2022, but that came with its own problems

By placing one of our talent partners on-site, on a scalable basis from two to five days per week, we were able to optimise their recruitment process from start to finish and help them achieve their headcount plan. Our process started with an in-depth audit of their recruitment process, from job specification writing and job board usage analysis to interview technique and offer management. From there we took detailed briefs of the roles on offer and got to work sourcing candidates directly through our talent partner, with assistance from our wider, specialist recruitment team, and created a preferred supplierlist for the specialist roles we didn’t have the expertise to fill ourselves.

To assist Geopura in their ambitious growth journey, Jackson Hogg proposed our flagship Talent Partnership service.

Our talent partner assisted in creating an apprenticeship scheme to foster new talent, and by optimising the recruitment process and controlling all activities centrally, time to offer was reduced by 22%. This all allowed Geopurato achieve their headcount plans, continue their growth journey and focus on their innovative technologies rather than recruitment. Due to the success of their first 12 months, Geoupura extended their contract by a further 12 months.
