Jackson Hogg to auction luxury city break for charity

Jackson Hogg, one of the North East’s leading recruitment firms, is to auction off a luxury holiday in support of charity Cash for Kids.

The Newcastle-based firm is donating the proceeds of the charitable lot to Metro Radio’s Mission Christmas campaign, as part of its own commitment to be a ‘drop off point’ for the cause.

The mini-break prize includes a two day B&B stay at the Hilton Hotel in Madrid, donated through entrepreneur Jeremy Middleton’s Charity Escapes, a not-for-profit initiative that aims to achieve the highest potential donation for charity from donated holidays, room nights or short breaks, as well as flights from Newcastle Airport, which have been donated by Jackson Hogg.

The auction will be hosted at Thomas N Miller Auctioneers, which has donated it’s time and facilities to the cause, on December 12 at 11am, Lot 1. As well as being placed at the auction house, bidders can leave pre-sale bids at: www.millersauctioneers.co.uk or bid live on the day here: www.the-saleroom.com/tnmiller. A catalogue for the sale will go live on both sites on Friday December 8th at 5pm.

The scheme has been organised by Head of IT, Technology and Digital at Jackson Hogg, Sarah Harper, who said: “We set Jackson Hogg up as a drop off point for the Mission Christmas campaign, as it does brilliant work aiming to make sure disadvantaged children don’t wake up on Christmas morning without a present. After talking to local businesses about ways to raise as much as possible, Charity Escapes very kindly donated this mini-break.”

Managing Director of Jackson Hogg, Richard Hogg, said: “With Christmas coming up, and thousands of families in a less fortunate position, I think it is great that so many businesses are pitching in to raise money for this cause. Special thanks need to go to Charity Escapes, for donating this amazing prize and to Thomas N Miller Auctioneers, for hosting the auction.”

Jeremy Middleton said: “Charity Escapes is always looking for innovative fundraising schemes that support worthy causes to donate its mini-breaks to, and this event ticks both of those boxes, so we are delighted to help. We wish Jackson Hogg the best of luck on the day.”

Dan Slee, Metro Radio Cash for Kids Manager, said: “Mission Christmas is the biggest campaign of the year for our charity and it has one simple aim, to ensure every child in the North East wakes up to a present on Christmas Day.

“The money generated from the auction will help us purchase gifts for particular age ranges we struggle to receive gifts for and also specialist toys and equipment for disabled children. Cash for Kids would like to thank Jackson Hogg, Charity Escapes and Thomas Miller and wish everyone involved a really successful auction.”
