An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance & Payroll Assistant to join an established and growing finance team. This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality transactional, financial, and management accounting services, while also supporting payroll operations across the organisation.
The Role
Working as part of a supportive and collaborative finance team, you will be responsible for a range of finance and payroll duties, including but not limited to:

Managing payroll processes using Sage (or similar) payroll software and ensuring HMRC compliance.

Administering employee benefits such as Bupa deductions and issuing payslips.

Processing payroll payments through online banking systems.

Preparing and posting month-end payroll journals.
-
Administering pension schemes and salary sacrifice programmes.

Reconciling payroll figures and preparing year-end returns.

Processing expense claims and analysing employee timesheets.

Supporting month-end financial reporting and VAT submissions.

Maintaining fixed asset registers and intercompany balances.
The Person
The ideal candidate will have:

GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at grades 4–6 (C or above).

Experience using Sage or equivalent payroll software.
-
Previous experience in both finance and payroll functions.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Experience supporting month-end procedures and processes.
