The Role

Overview 
Our client is a well-established and expanding manufacturing business based in Ripon. Due to continued growth and increased production demand, they are looking to recruit an experienced Production Operative to support their ongoing expansion. This is a hands-on role requiring solid production experience alongside the ability to assist with the maintenance and upkeep of production machinery. The successful candidate will become a key part of a growing operation offering long-term stability and progression. 
Key Responsibilities

	<li style="margin: 0.0cm 0.0cm 8.0pt;">Assist with routine maintenance, basic fault finding, and first-line repairs on production equipment
	<li style="margin: 0.0cm 0.0cm 8.0pt;">Carry out machine changeovers, setups, and adjustments as required
	<li style="margin: 0.0cm 0.0cm 8.0pt;">Monitor machine performance and report defects, breakdowns, or safety concerns
	<li style="margin: 0.0cm 0.0cm 8.0pt;">Ensure products meet quality standards and production targets
	<li style="margin: 0.0cm 0.0cm 8.0pt;">Maintain accurate production and maintenance records where required

Candidate Requirements

Production Technician

Jackson Hogg are proudly supporting a specialist manufacturing business in the Durham area on a QHSE Director position, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer.

 

Our client is seeking an experienced QHSE Director to lead the QHSE and Security functions on site. A senior leadership position that requires strong leadership skills, the ability to engage with senior and executive leadership whilst ensuring compliance across all operational areas.

 

QHSE Director Responsibilities

	<li>Develop, implement, and continuously improve integrated QEHSS strategies aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements
	<li>Act as trusted advisor to the Executive Leadership Team on all matters relating to quality, environmental impact, health & safety, and security risks
	<li>Challenge existing practices and drive cultural change to embed QEHSS excellence throughout the organisation
	<li>Lead the development of QEHSS policies, procedures, and management systems to world-class standards
</ul>

 

Quality Assurance & Management

 

<ul>
	<li>Oversee comprehensive quality assurance programmes across all business operations
	<li>Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards and maintain certification
	<li>Oversee operations working to ISO 45001 standard principles
	<li>Drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence programmes
	<li>Manage customer quality requirements and be the key interface with external auditors and certification bodies
	<li>Develop and maintain quality protocols for space payload applications and aerospace/defence industry requirements
	<li>Working knowledge of AS9100 certification requirements for Aviation, Space, and Defence (AS&D) industry standards

HSE & Leadership

	<li>Serve as the statutory &apos;Responsible Person&apos; for health and safety under relevant legislation
	<li>Develop and maintain robust health and safety management systems
	<li>Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations and standards
	<li>Lead incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
	<li>Drive safety culture transformation and behavioural change programmes
	<li>Develop and implement environmental management strategies and policies
	<li>Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and permit conditions
	<li>Drive sustainability initiatives and environmental impact reduction programs
	<li>Manage environmental risk assessments and mitigation strategies

QHSE Director Requirements

 

<ul>
	<li>Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field, or demonstrable relevant experience
	<li>Chartered status with relevant professional body (for example IOSH, IEMA, CQI)
	<li>NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent health and safety qualification
	<li>Working experience within the aerospace sector
	<li>Lead Auditor certification for relevant ISO standards (i.e. ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001)
	<li>Demonstrable evidence of continuous professional development
	<li>Deep understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and working knowledge of ISO 45001 principles
	<li>Knowledge of AS9100 certification requirements for aerospace, space, and defence industries
	<li>Comprehensive knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and regulations
	<li>Strong understanding of environmental law and sustainability principles
	<li>Knowledge of information security principles, cybersecurity frameworks, and data protection regulations (GDPR)
	<li>Experience with quality assurance methodologies and continuous improvement tools

Director of QEHSS

Jackson Hogg is working with a well-established manufacturing business to recruit a Production Team Leader for their Electrical Production site based in Melsonby.

This role offers the opportunity to lead a skilled production team, drive daily performance, and play a key role in maintaining high standards of safety, quality and delivery within a structured manufacturing environment.

The Role

As Production Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading, motivating and managing daily team activities, ensuring alignment with weekly production plans set by the Production Manager. You will act as a key point of communication between production and management, while driving continuous improvement across the operation.

Jackson Hogg is again supporting a local engineering client seeking skilled CNC Millers to join an experienced and dedicated production team on a permanent basis. This role is ideal for a time-served CNC Machinist who is committed to quality, precision, and continuous improvement. 
 
As a CNC Miller, you will play a key role in ensuring components are manufactured accurately, efficiently, and to the highest standards. You will be responsible for producing complex components while supporting production targets and maintaining strict quality and safety standards.

	<li>Work methodically through tasks while ensuring quality is never compromised.

Clean energy without limits

The organisation’s headcount plan was ambitious, and required an expanded recruitment capability to deliver it, but with varying recruitment volumes throughout the year, they needed a flexible solution. Geopura considered hiring an in-house recruiter, but the niche roles they were looking to fill, combined with the variability of their recruitment requirements and limited employer brand within the market meant that this solution wasn’t viable. They also considered expanding their use of recruitment agencies, but the unpredictable costs involved in this were difficult to align with their plans.

Geopura’s growth was starting to accelerate in 2022, but that came with its own problems

By placing one of our talent partners on-site, on a scalable basis from two to five days per week, we were able to optimise their recruitment process from start to finish and help them achieve their headcount plan. Our process started with an in-depth audit of their recruitment process, from job specification writing and job board usage analysis to interview technique and offer management. From there we took detailed briefs of the roles on offer and got to work sourcing candidates directly through our talent partner, with assistance from our wider, specialist recruitment team, and created a preferred supplierlist for the specialist roles we didn’t have the expertise to fill ourselves.

To assist Geopura in their ambitious growth journey, Jackson Hogg proposed our flagship Talent Partnership service.

Our talent partner assisted in creating an apprenticeship scheme to foster new talent, and by optimising the recruitment process and controlling all activities centrally, time to offer was reduced by 22%. This all allowed Geopurato achieve their headcount plans, continue their growth journey and focus on their innovative technologies rather than recruitment. Due to the success of their first 12 months, Geoupura extended their contract by a further 12 months.
