Jackson Hogg is delighted to be supporting a growing Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company with the appointment of a Civil & Structural Engineer to support with onshore energy projects. This company has recently secured major long-term projects in the onshore energy sector and the ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and overseeing Civil & Structural activities and studies, contribute towards technical bid evaluations and provide technical consultancy to clients on projects relating to civil and structural issues. 
  
Role Responsibilities:

	<li style="margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0;vertical-align: middle;">Support Engineering Management, project teams and planners internally with Civil and Structural related enquiries during the project lifecycle.
	<li style="margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0;vertical-align: middle;">Check and engineer all civil and structural design work in line with quality assurance, appropriate codes of practice and the clients procedures. 
	<li style="margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0;vertical-align: middle;">Provide civil and structural engineering for detailed designs. 
	<li style="margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0;vertical-align: middle;">Liaison with client discipline representatives to establish technical direction where not provided by codes and standards.
	<li style="margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0;vertical-align: middle;">Provide expertise and advise on installation methodology & safe engineering practices, including LOLER requirements.
	<li style="margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0;vertical-align: middle;">Identify and validate improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
	<li style="margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0;vertical-align: middle;">Provide timely progress updates to Engineering management and project planners.
	<li style="margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0;vertical-align: middle;">Work closely within the project team to provide advice and support with regards to civil and structural aspects of the projects.
	<li style="margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0;vertical-align: middle;">Ensure all installation schemes are designed to be carried out in a safe manner

Requirements:

<ul style="margin-bottom: 0.0in;margin-top: 0.0in;unicode-bidi: embed;">
	<li style="margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0;vertical-align: middle;">Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or similar discipline. 
	<li style="margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0;vertical-align: middle;">Extensive industry experience working within the oil & gas/energy sectors within a civil and structural engineering role. 
	<li style="margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0;vertical-align: middle;">Conversant with codes of practice, standards and other relevant sections of statutory documentation.
	<li style="margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0;vertical-align: middle;">Have experience in both structural and civil engineering
	<li style="margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0;vertical-align: middle;">Experienced working for onshore waste to energy facility detailed civil and structural engineering (advantageous).

Senior Payroll Assistant 

The Role 
The successful candidate will be a member of the payroll team, working together with the team, will have the responsibility for ensuring all employees on the payroll are paid accurately and on time. The Payroll Clerk will ensure payroll processing remains compliant with legislation and company policies at all times. 
Key Objectives: 
Validate and, where necessary, input into the payroll system timesheet and amended data received from the relevant authorised depot Managers.

	<li>Processing Payroll for Weekly paid employees
	<li>Validation of Tax, NI, SSP,SMP,SPP and SMP calculations
	<li>Checking net pay calculations before payment processing deadlines
	<li>Processing starters, leavers and salary changes including calculation of arrears and leaving entitlements

	<li>Resolving payroll queries from employees in a professional and timely manner

Jackson Hogg is partnering with a fantastic Newcastle based client to appoint a Management Accountant.

The key elements to the role:

	<li>Support the day to day and monthly accounting cycles, including reporting and forecasting of the financial performance for one of our key business units
	<li>Preparation of financial analysis and reports for monthly Trading Reviews
	<li>Develop a clear understanding of our revenue recognition policies and complete sales invoicing reconciliation

A large and well-established business based in Esh Winning is seeking a Temporary Credit Controller to join their finance team for an immediate start.

Responsibilities

Clean energy without limits

The organisation’s headcount plan was ambitious, and required an expanded recruitment capability to deliver it, but with varying recruitment volumes throughout the year, they needed a flexible solution. Geopura considered hiring an in-house recruiter, but the niche roles they were looking to fill, combined with the variability of their recruitment requirements and limited employer brand within the market meant that this solution wasn’t viable. They also considered expanding their use of recruitment agencies, but the unpredictable costs involved in this were difficult to align with their plans.

Geopura’s growth was starting to accelerate in 2022, but that came with its own problems

By placing one of our talent partners on-site, on a scalable basis from two to five days per week, we were able to optimise their recruitment process from start to finish and help them achieve their headcount plan. Our process started with an in-depth audit of their recruitment process, from job specification writing and job board usage analysis to interview technique and offer management. From there we took detailed briefs of the roles on offer and got to work sourcing candidates directly through our talent partner, with assistance from our wider, specialist recruitment team, and created a preferred supplierlist for the specialist roles we didn’t have the expertise to fill ourselves.

To assist Geopura in their ambitious growth journey, Jackson Hogg proposed our flagship Talent Partnership service.

Our talent partner assisted in creating an apprenticeship scheme to foster new talent, and by optimising the recruitment process and controlling all activities centrally, time to offer was reduced by 22%. This all allowed Geopurato achieve their headcount plans, continue their growth journey and focus on their innovative technologies rather than recruitment. Due to the success of their first 12 months, Geoupura extended their contract by a further 12 months.
