The Role 
You will be responsible for the electrical build installation and maintenance of specialist machinery and vehicles. This will include working on new machine builds as well as maintaining a existing fleets. You will work closely with mechanical colleagues and the wider engineering team to ensure equipment remains safe compliant and reliable. 
 
Key Responsibilities

This is a senior technical role with real responsibility. The successful candidate will sit at the heart of quality and compliance on site, balancing hands-on NDT activity with full ownership of departmental governance, radiation safety, and capability development.

This is not a traditional desk-based CAM role, and it is not sales or pre-sales focused. The position sits at the heart of machining performance, owning CNC methods from customer drawing through offline programming, prove-out, and into stable production.

We are seeking an experienced and detail focused Senior Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day running of a busy finance function. This is a key role responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, financial administration and supporting accurate financial reporting.

This opportunity is ideal for a proactive finance professional with strong payroll expertise and solid general accounts office experience who thrives in a hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities

<ul>
	<li>Manage and process end-to-end payroll, including starters, leavers, salary changes, overtime, statutory payments and deductions
	<li>Administer PAYE, pensions and ensure compliance with HMRC and National Minimum Wage legislation
	<li>Prepare payroll reports and post payroll journals to the finance system
	<li>Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records
	<li>Support the preparation of management accounts and financial reports
	<li>Manage the debtors ledger and assist with credit control

We are looking for candidates who will work on fault diagnosis, routine servicing, repair, maintenance and testing of complex plant, machinery and associated components. Including installation of machinery. 

Job Description

	<li>Have the required competencies to assemble, position and install, carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on, test and diagnose faults in, repair, remove and replace, and disassemble mechanical equipment and systems in engineering construction plant.

	<li>Typical equipment includes power generation and distribution systems (Single phase/three phase LV), Earthing systems, switch panels, transformers, motors, generators lighting systems, and circuit protection devices (Fuses, MCBs, Relays, RCDs, thermal overloads).
	<li>Electrical maintenance technicians are expected to be able to diagnose the causes of electrical or electromechanical malfunctions or failures of operational equipment in a prompt and efficient manner.
	<li>They must be able to interpret maintenance specifications, engineering drawings and wiring diagrams to achieve many of their day-to-day objectives.
	<li>As necessary, put forward suggestions and develop modification requests to improve plant/equipment efficiency/safety of operations.
	<li>Have the required competencies to install, maintain, test and diagnose for faults and disassemble a wide range of electrical plant and associated components to the required standard while adhering to health, safety and environmental regulations and safe working practices, and taking into account environmental and sustainability considerations

Clean energy without limits

The organisation’s headcount plan was ambitious, and required an expanded recruitment capability to deliver it, but with varying recruitment volumes throughout the year, they needed a flexible solution. Geopura considered hiring an in-house recruiter, but the niche roles they were looking to fill, combined with the variability of their recruitment requirements and limited employer brand within the market meant that this solution wasn’t viable. They also considered expanding their use of recruitment agencies, but the unpredictable costs involved in this were difficult to align with their plans.

Geopura’s growth was starting to accelerate in 2022, but that came with its own problems

By placing one of our talent partners on-site, on a scalable basis from two to five days per week, we were able to optimise their recruitment process from start to finish and help them achieve their headcount plan. Our process started with an in-depth audit of their recruitment process, from job specification writing and job board usage analysis to interview technique and offer management. From there we took detailed briefs of the roles on offer and got to work sourcing candidates directly through our talent partner, with assistance from our wider, specialist recruitment team, and created a preferred supplierlist for the specialist roles we didn’t have the expertise to fill ourselves.

To assist Geopura in their ambitious growth journey, Jackson Hogg proposed our flagship Talent Partnership service.

Our talent partner assisted in creating an apprenticeship scheme to foster new talent, and by optimising the recruitment process and controlling all activities centrally, time to offer was reduced by 22%. This all allowed Geopurato achieve their headcount plans, continue their growth journey and focus on their innovative technologies rather than recruitment. Due to the success of their first 12 months, Geoupura extended their contract by a further 12 months.
