Clean energy without limits

The organisation’s headcount plan was ambitious, and required an expanded recruitment capability to deliver it, but with varying recruitment volumes throughout the year, they needed a flexible solution. Geopura considered hiring an in-house recruiter, but the niche roles they were looking to fill, combined with the variability of their recruitment requirements and limited employer brand within the market meant that this solution wasn’t viable. They also considered expanding their use of recruitment agencies, but the unpredictable costs involved in this were difficult to align with their plans.

Geopura’s growth was starting to accelerate in 2022, but that came with its own problems

By placing one of our talent partners on-site, on a scalable basis from two to five days per week, we were able to optimise their recruitment process from start to finish and help them achieve their headcount plan. Our process started with an in-depth audit of their recruitment process, from job specification writing and job board usage analysis to interview technique and offer management. From there we took detailed briefs of the roles on offer and got to work sourcing candidates directly through our talent partner, with assistance from our wider, specialist recruitment team, and created a preferred supplierlist for the specialist roles we didn’t have the expertise to fill ourselves.

To assist Geopura in their ambitious growth journey, Jackson Hogg proposed our flagship Talent Partnership service.

Our talent partner assisted in creating an apprenticeship scheme to foster new talent, and by optimising the recruitment process and controlling all activities centrally, time to offer was reduced by 22%. This all allowed Geopurato achieve their headcount plans, continue their growth journey and focus on their innovative technologies rather than recruitment. Due to the success of their first 12 months, Geoupura extended their contract by a further 12 months.

Our talent partner assisted in creating an apprenticeship scheme to foster new talent, and by optimising the recruitment process and controlling all activities centrally, time to offer was reduced by 22%. She has since worked in SME engineering businesses and the Motor Industry. Bethany is passionate about creating a positive employee lifecycle to support business growth and profit, with a strong focus on early HR intervention and effective project management. Bethany Smith

Alison heads up the HR and Business Support teams for the North East region. She is a Psychology graduate with 20 years recruitment experience gained &nbsp;abroad, in the Midlands and London before returning to her roots in Newcastle. Alison specialises in HR and Business Support roles, bringing a deep understanding of the market and a passion for connecting great talent with the right opportunities. Alison Thew

With a background in Agriculture and Livestock Science,&nbsp;Phoebe began her career in the food and agriculture industry, working across FSQR, NPD, and supply chain before moving into a role supporting agricultural sustainability at a global food business. After several years in industry, she took a career break to work in the yachting sector - earning her Yachtmaster licence, skippering her own yacht, and progressing to superyachts.
Now part of the Science team at Jackson Hogg,&nbsp;Phoebe&nbsp;recruits across the UK for a wide range of science roles, ranging from lab technicians to regulatory directors, supporting clients across the life science sector. Outside of work,&nbsp;Phoebe enjoys hiking, trail running, and baking.

Laura joined Jackson Hogg in May 2025, bringing with her over 9 years of recruitment experience. With a well-rounded background as a 360 recruiter, Laura has worked across a wide range of HR, Commercial, and Business Support roles in various industries ranging from Property, Tech, Professional Services and much more.
 At Jackson Hogg, Laura is passionate about matching great people with great opportunities and is especially invested in mentoring up-and-coming recruiters, helping them grow in confidence and capability.
 Outside of work, you&rsquo;ll find Laura enjoying a good walk finding a good coffee spot, getting stuck into a great book or spending time with her mischievous Cockapoo, Reggie.

Laura Jackson

Lily started her career with Jackson Hogg's Engineering team back in 2021. This is where she cut her teeth on all aspects of engineering design, projects and management. After relocating to London in 2023 she spent 2 years focused on Senior Leadership and Engineering across sustainability in the UK and Europe spanning all the way from Hydrogen through to BESS, renewables and e-mobility. She is excited to be back with the team at Jackson Hogg to support on Senior Engineering and Management positions, from Head of Engineering, Projects, Management and R&amp;D. Outside of work you'll find Lily out enjoying food or whipping up some overly adventurous dish at home. She also loves to stay fit and whenever the weather allows it she'll get out on a long run.

Lily Campbell Hewson

Tracey joined Jackson Hogg in 2024 as Finance Manager. Tracey has over 30 years experience working within a range of different industries, started out training within an accountancy practice and moved to industry once qualified. Outside of work Tracey tries to spend as much time as possible with her family and will often be found at the livery yard with her daughters horse or at the football pitch supporting her son.

Tracey Fraser

Lucy joined the Jackson Hogg Industrial team in September 2024. She focuses on temporary and permanent placements within blue-collar, skilled and semi-skilled roles, with a particular focus on the Teesside and North Yorkshire regions. In her spare time Lucy enjoys travelling and Pilates.

Charlie joined Jackson Hogg in August 2024 to focus on Commercial Management recruitment for the STEM industry, recruiting for a range of roles including Estimators, Commercial Managers, Commercial Assistants, Quantity Surveyors, Bids/Tenders and Proposals, Contracts Managers and Legal Counsel.
Charlie joined Jackson Hogg with 4 years of experience recruiting for the Nuclear Industry. He is a massive Newcastle United fan and season ticket holder, and on a weekend you'll often find him at St. James' Park.

James joined Jackson Hogg in July 2024 after working in recruitment in the Solar industry, then started focussing on mechanical engineering contract work. He&rsquo;s originally from Manchester, a big Manchester United fan, likes playing football and golf.

Jacob leads our Global Aerospace and Defence recruitment efforts, after joining in 2024. He has 8 years&rsquo; experience delivering technical and leadership search campaigns across the STEM industry supporting VCs, start-ups, scale-ups and multi-nationals. Being a gamer, Jacob is excited by innovation and computer technologies and he can&rsquo;t wait to see the first autonomous flight technologies in action. When he&rsquo;s not in the office Jacob loves cooking, traveling and hiking. Also, rather unfortunately, he is a long-suffering Leeds United supporter.

Jacob Raddings

Adam joined Jackson Hogg in July 2024, bringing with him over six years of industry experience. He leads Senior IT and Infrastructure recruitment across the North East of England, partnering with organisations to identify high-calibre talent and supporting candidates in securing the next step in their careers. Outside of work, Adam enjoys staying active; whether that&rsquo;s playing a round of golf, taking long walks with his dog, or spending time at the gym.

Callum joined Jackson Hogg in 2024 after 3 years specialising in IT recruitment at an AWS Partner. Before joining, he got the opportunity to travel Central/ South America seeing a beautiful side of the world. At Jackson Hogg, Callum joins the IT team and specialises in Software Development in the North East. Outside of work, Callum enjoys playing golf at a poor standard and supporting Newcastle United in his spare time.

Sarah specialises in senior commercial hires including sales/business development, commercial leadership and commercial management, bids and proposals, and legal, and has focused on this area of the market since joining Jackson Hogg almost 7 years ago. Sarah focusses on targeted headhunt searches nationally and internationally, with experience of recruiting in the UK, Europe, US, Middle-East, Africa and Asia Pacific, for STEM businesses typically in quite niche areas of technology/service offerings. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys travelling, trying new restaurants in the region, and spending time with friends and family.

Richard is the founder and CEO of Jackson Hogg. A former mechanical engineer, Richard believes he has the best job in the world. With a passion for people, he enjoys bringing great people together where everyone can get stuck in, love their work and share some great humour along the way. Richard knows that having the best team enables them to help clients build their own amazing teams, no matter their business aspirations. When Richard isn't meeting people, he loves to travel to the South of France where he'll happily enjoy a glass of red in the sun with his family.

Richard Hogg

Kate joined the team at Jackson Hogg back in 2019 focusing mainly on temporary and contract assignments across all STEM sectors. She decided to make a move into internal recruitment and joined our Talent Partnership team in 2021. Her role now involves being the dedicated Talent Partner on site for two of our clients based in Teesside, delivering on a range of roles including Scientific, Engineering, IT and Finance. Kate spends most of her spare time with her two young children and partner but enjoys eating out and drinks with friends!

Kate Watson

At Jackson Hogg, Sian recruits all roles across Warehousing, Transport, Freight and Operations in Teesside, Yorkshire and the rest of the UK. Nicola joined the HR Partnership team at Jackson Hogg in November 2023. She has worked in in-house HR roles for over 15 years, the majority of that time for the Port of Tyne, building a wide range of HR generalist experience across multiple business areas. After branching out into HR consultancy back in June 2023 supporting smaller SMEs across the UK, Nicola joined Jackson Hogg to develop this experience futher with a particular focus on supporting Jackson Hogg's STEM client base. In her spare time Nicola likes to spend as much time as possible with her two boys and likes to fit in running when she can along the North Tyneside coast.

Lexie primarily focuses on Precision Medicine, OMICS and CGT tools within the US and Europe. Lexie joined Jackson Hogg at the beginning of May 2024 with 4 years of experience in life science recruitment.&nbsp; She has worked with a variety of businesses in this area ranging from early stage startups to 5000+ people global organisations; on cross-functional roles from R&amp;D to Sales.

Lexie Farrar

Suzanne is our Senior Accounts and Compliance Coordinator and is part of the Internal Finance team at Jackson Hogg. Suzanne's responsibilities include managing the compliance and process surrounding our temporary recruitment, invoicing, and debt management. Suzanne has over 20 years experience of working within a support role within the recruitment sector. Suzanne has 2 daughters and dedicates most of her spare time to them, however, she is also a member of her local women's contact and touch rugby team, where she enjoys taking part in as many games and social activities as possible.

Suzanne Lowes

Gary leads our tech recruitment team. He has been in recruitment for 14 years and got into it by chance after being made redundant in a previous role. For the past 6 years he has headed up Tech Divisons in a range of recruitment companies covering both the perm and contract market in the North-East. Gary recently joined Jackson Hogg and is really excited to grow and elevate our tech profile in the North-East. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his kids and family and is a big West Ham Supporter, for his sins.
