A globally respected engineering and technology company is seeking a Bid Manager to join its UK Sales Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a high-impact role, supporting major projects through the preparation and delivery of competitive, compliant, and cost-effective bids. You’ll be working across engineering, procurement, and commercial teams, helping shape proposals that support the future of defence.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and deliver end-to-end bids

Build and maintain cost models in line with project and product specifications

Lead bid review and approval meetings, ensuring clarity and compliance
-
Collaborate across departments to gather technical, procurement, and project data
-
Analyse and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
-
Support R&D cost planning and initiatives for concept development and innovation

Standardise bid documentation and estimating processes
-
Provide commercial and technical input to sales strategies
Essential Skills
-
Experience in bid management, project coordination, or commercial engineering
-
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
-
Ability to interpret technical documents and liaise with engineers and procurement teams

Familiarity with estimating tools, cost modelling, and BOMs
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word)
Desirable Skills
-
Knowledge of defence, or similar regulated sectors
-
Degree-qualified in engineering, business, or a related discipline
-
Experience with public sector or MoD bids
-
Understanding of procurement and contract terms in defence markets
