Electrical Design Draughtsperson

Overview

• Undertake and check detailed design and preparation of electrical and instrumentation engineering deliverables for new and existing products, including electrical schematics, PLC equipment, and control panel layouts.

• Assist senior engineers with the preparation of outline design schemes.

• Produce electrical schematics, general arrangement drawings, and supporting documentation under the direction of engineers.

• Assist with the checking of documents and carry out detailed calculations.

• Understand and interpret detailed electrical, hydraulic, process, and instrumentation drawings.

• Plan, control, and undertake day-to-day electrical engineering tasks using Autodesk AutoCAD 2D software.

• Assist with the execution of contracts to supply equipment or services.

• Liaise with colleagues to ensure all electrical and instrumentation project deliverables required under contract are delivered in accordance with the project schedule.

Required Qualifications, Training & Skills

Essential

• Level 4 HNC in Electrical Engineering (or similar/higher qualification).

• 1–2 years’ experience in an electrical design role.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

• Previous experience using CAD software (AutoCAD 2D).

• Self-motivated, proactive, and willing to adapt to change while progressing projects.

Desirable

• Previous experience with onshore or offshore marine equipment.

• Experience using Autodesk Inventor to review layouts and provide feedback on installation equipment positioning.
