Head of People, Learning & Development, Tyne and Wear
Salary up to £60,000Jackson Hogg is delighted to be working in partnership with this growing and progressive organisation in their search for an experienced and strategic Head of People, Learning & Development. The successful candidate will be expected to lead their people agenda and build a high-performing, values led organisation. This is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping and delivering the People and Learning & Development strategy to support business growth, capability and long-term success.
You will work closely with Directors and senior leaders to ensure the organisation has the right talent, leadership and culture in place to achieve its objectives.
Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
Strategic People Leadership

Develop and deliver a People and L&D strategy aligned to business goals.

Provide trusted advice and constructive challenge to Directors and senior leaders.

Contribute at Board and senior leadership level.
Culture & Engagement
-
Embed a positive, inclusive and high-performing culture.

Lead employee engagement, wellbeing and EDI initiatives.

Champion values-led leadership across the organisation.
Learning & Development
-
Design and implement a clear, forward-thinking L&D framework.

Lead leadership and management development programmes.
-
Oversee performance management, appraisal and development processes.
-
Identify future skills gaps and capability needs.
Workforce Planning & Governance
-
Lead workforce and succession planning.
-
Oversee recruitment strategy and senior hires.
-
Ensure people policies and practices are compliant and proportionate.

Maintain oversight of people-related risk, governance and audit readiness.
Team Leadership
-
Lead and develop the People function.

Promote collaboration, continuous improvement and accountability.
Criteria:
You are a credible senior People leader with significant experience in HR and/or Learning & Development. You combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery and are confident operating at Board level.
You will bring:

Proven experience delivering People and/or L&D strategies aligned to business objectives.

Strong knowledge of leadership development and organisational capability building.

Experience influencing and advising senior stakeholders.

A sound understanding of employment legislation and HR best practice.

Experience in workforce planning and organisational development.

A collaborative, pragmatic and commercially aware approach.
