Role Overview
The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for the precise set-up and operation of multi-axis mill/grind machining centres within a precision engineering environment. The role requires strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to manufacturing high-precision components.
You will contribute to the production of precision seals made from specialist elastomers and engineering plastics, ensuring all work meets strict quality and tolerance requirements. The successful candidate will be a team player who can also work independently, manage their own workload effectively, and communicate clearly across departments.
Working Hours
Day Shift – 35.25 hours per week
Initial working pattern:
- Monday to Wednesday: 05:55 – 17:40
- 11.75 hours per day
Please note: After an initial period, the role will move to the company’s standard rotating day shift pattern:
Week 1
- Thursday to Saturday: 05:55 – 17:40
- 11.75 hours per day
Week 2
- Monday to Wednesday: 05:55 – 17:40
- 11.75 hours per day
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate 5-axis vertical machining centres.
- Manufacture precision seals using specialist elastomers and engineering plastics.
- Use machine probing, CMM, and optical inspection equipment to ensure product quality and tight tolerances.
- Interpret and work from technical drawings, specifications, and supporting documentation.
- Work flexibly across different machining areas where required (e.g., CNC lathes or vertical mills).
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment in line with company standards.
