Proposal Engineer

Reports To: Chief Engineer 
Position Overview 
We're seeking a highly analytical and systemic Process Engineer to support ongoing test bench operation and maintenance activities. This role is critical in ensuring our next-generation ultrasonic and mechanical metering solutions meet stringent US regulatory standards while bridging the gap between physical hydraulic testing and advanced information systems. 
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of AWWA standards, test bench architecture, and the ability to evaluate hydraulic data to facilitate continuous improvement activities. 
Key Responsibilities 
1. Test Bench
<ul>
	<li style="margin: 0.0cm 0.0cm 8.0pt;">Participate in the design, optimization, and maintenance of our high-precision test benches for both Ultrasonic (AWWA C715) and Mechanical (AWWA C700/C708) water meters
	<li style="margin: 0.0cm 0.0cm 8.0pt;">Contribute expertise to support technical component selection, including high-efficiency pumps, precision reference meters, control valves, VFDs, peripheral sensors, etc. to ensure system integrity, accuracy and longevity
	<li style="margin: 0.0cm 0.0cm 8.0pt 36.0pt;">Support ongoing test bench operation and maintenance activities

2. Production Equipment and Systems

<ul>
	<li style="margin: 0.0cm 0.0cm 0.0cm 36.0pt;">Optimize product flow through the assembly and testing processes
	<li style="margin: 0.0cm 0.0cm 0.0cm 36.0pt;">Contribute to various continuous process improvement projects
	<li style="margin: 0.0cm 0.0cm 0.0cm 36.0pt;">Seek out and suggest improvements in safety and ergonomics

3. Connectivity & Information Systems

</ul>
4. Data Analysis & Troubleshooting

Requirements & Qualifications 
Core Prerequisites:

Clean energy without limits

The organisation’s headcount plan was ambitious, and required an expanded recruitment capability to deliver it, but with varying recruitment volumes throughout the year, they needed a flexible solution. Geopura considered hiring an in-house recruiter, but the niche roles they were looking to fill, combined with the variability of their recruitment requirements and limited employer brand within the market meant that this solution wasn’t viable. They also considered expanding their use of recruitment agencies, but the unpredictable costs involved in this were difficult to align with their plans.

Geopura’s growth was starting to accelerate in 2022, but that came with its own problems

By placing one of our talent partners on-site, on a scalable basis from two to five days per week, we were able to optimise their recruitment process from start to finish and help them achieve their headcount plan. Our process started with an in-depth audit of their recruitment process, from job specification writing and job board usage analysis to interview technique and offer management. From there we took detailed briefs of the roles on offer and got to work sourcing candidates directly through our talent partner, with assistance from our wider, specialist recruitment team, and created a preferred supplierlist for the specialist roles we didn’t have the expertise to fill ourselves.

To assist Geopura in their ambitious growth journey, Jackson Hogg proposed our flagship Talent Partnership service.

Our talent partner assisted in creating an apprenticeship scheme to foster new talent, and by optimising the recruitment process and controlling all activities centrally, time to offer was reduced by 22%. This all allowed Geopurato achieve their headcount plans, continue their growth journey and focus on their innovative technologies rather than recruitment. Due to the success of their first 12 months, Geoupura extended their contract by a further 12 months.
