Site Electrical Engineer

Shift Maintenance Technician 
Shift Technician: salary £44,436 per annum plus £900 per annum shift allowance 
Continentals (DuPont - Days and Nights – full shift below)

Jackson Hogg is supporting a well-established, specialist manufacturer in the region with a Maintenance Technician. After significant growth they are looking to increase their headcount and grow their existing maintenance team with the appointment of a Maintenance Technician. 
  
This role will see you supporting the existing maintenance team with site maintenance activities including breakdowns, PPMs and some project work. 
  
This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward thinking and innovative company who are looking to support and invest in the technicians of the future. The ideal candidates will have served their time in a recognized apprenticeship and have a competent knowledge of both Electrical and Mechanical maintenance such as PLC Fault Finding, Pneumatics and Hydraulics. 
  
Duties include:

	<li style="margin-top: 0.0cm;margin-right: 0.0cm;margin-bottom: 0.0cm;margin: 0.0cm 0.0cm 8.0pt;">Project work across site upgrades, changes and improvements
	<li style="margin-top: 0.0cm;margin-right: 0.0cm;margin-bottom: 0.0cm;margin: 0.0cm 0.0cm 8.0pt;">General maintenance work across site including site facilities work
	<li style="margin-top: 0.0cm;margin-right: 0.0cm;margin-bottom: 0.0cm;margin: 0.0cm 0.0cm 8.0pt;">PLC Fault Finding and Fault rectifications
	<li style="margin-top: 0.0cm;margin-right: 0.0cm;margin-bottom: 0.0cm;margin: 0.0cm 0.0cm 8.0pt;">Electrical work including wiring, installs, commissioning, 3 Phase and Logic processes
	<li style="margin: 0.0cm 0.0cm 8.0pt;">Mechanical work on Conveyors, Pumps, Pneumatics and Hydraulics
</ul>
In addition to the salary on offer and shift premium, their benefits package includes:

The shift pattern is: 
  
Shift breakdown is as follows, 4 x 12 hour days, 7 days off, 4 x 12 hour nights, 3 days off, 3 x 12 hour days, 1 day off, 3 x 12 hour nights, 3 days off, 4 x 12 hours days and the rotation starts again. For a new starter shifts could commence at any point in the rota. We do operate a flexi hours system so the shifts allocated MAY change, however sufficient notice is given for any such change

Clean energy without limits

The organisation’s headcount plan was ambitious, and required an expanded recruitment capability to deliver it, but with varying recruitment volumes throughout the year, they needed a flexible solution. Geopura considered hiring an in-house recruiter, but the niche roles they were looking to fill, combined with the variability of their recruitment requirements and limited employer brand within the market meant that this solution wasn’t viable. They also considered expanding their use of recruitment agencies, but the unpredictable costs involved in this were difficult to align with their plans.

Geopura’s growth was starting to accelerate in 2022, but that came with its own problems

By placing one of our talent partners on-site, on a scalable basis from two to five days per week, we were able to optimise their recruitment process from start to finish and help them achieve their headcount plan. Our process started with an in-depth audit of their recruitment process, from job specification writing and job board usage analysis to interview technique and offer management. From there we took detailed briefs of the roles on offer and got to work sourcing candidates directly through our talent partner, with assistance from our wider, specialist recruitment team, and created a preferred supplierlist for the specialist roles we didn’t have the expertise to fill ourselves.

To assist Geopura in their ambitious growth journey, Jackson Hogg proposed our flagship Talent Partnership service.

Our talent partner assisted in creating an apprenticeship scheme to foster new talent, and by optimising the recruitment process and controlling all activities centrally, time to offer was reduced by 22%. This all allowed Geopurato achieve their headcount plans, continue their growth journey and focus on their innovative technologies rather than recruitment. Due to the success of their first 12 months, Geoupura extended their contract by a further 12 months.
