Jackson Hogg is delighted to be supporting an exciting business in their search for a Procurement Assistant based on their Houghton-Le-Spring site.

If you’re organised, detail-driven and keen to make an impact, this role offers the chance to play a key part in a centralised procurement function, working closely with colleagues across development, construction and operations.

The Role & Responsibilities

• Providing professional support to the Procurement Controller and wider business, helping manage costs, reduce risk, and secure best value from suppliers and contractors

• Managing procurement systems, ensuring data is accurate, compliant, and supports real-time reporting

• Coordinating supplier due diligence, contracts and variations, with a focus on quality, ESG and compliance

• Supporting tendering exercises, producing accurate reports and KPIs, and maintaining supplier records to a high standard

• Building strong working relationships with stakeholders across the business and external partners

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Previous experience within a Procurement or Purchasing position such as a Procurement Assistant or Procurement Apprentice role 

• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills, with excellent numeracy and attention to detail

• Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, with a collaborative approach

• Experience in professional services or construction procurement (desirable)

• CIPS membership or recognised business qualification (desirable)
