On behalf of an international wastewater treatment equipment manufacturer, we are recruiting a Sales Engineer (M/F/X).
Our client is a Belgian-based company that is part of a larger international industrial group with operations across multiple continents. The business designs, manufactures, and supplies specialized equipment for wastewater and water treatment applications, including aeration, mixing, decanting, and foam control systems.
With strong in-house R&D capabilities and patented technologies, the company is recognized as a key supplier in the global wastewater treatment market. To support continued growth, we are looking for a Sales Engineer to strengthen the commercial team.
Sales Engineer (M/F/X)
Wastewater Treatment Sector
Job Description
Following comprehensive internal training, you will join the sales team and play an active role in developing the company’s wastewater treatment business.
Your responsibilities will include:

Reporting directly to the Sales Manager

Preparing technical and commercial proposals in close collaboration with the engineering team
-
Following up quotations, negotiating contracts, and closing sales
-
Providing commercial support and backup to sales colleagues when required
-
Managing and developing a network of agents and distributors
-
Developing direct sales of the full product portfolio to contractors, industrial clients, and public authorities
-
Supporting the definition and execution of the sales strategy and related action plans
-
Acting as a key point of contact for customers and monitoring overall customer satisfaction
The position is based in Halle (Belgium), approximately 20 minutes from Brussels. Travel will account for approximately 20% of your time, mainly within Belgium and Europe (customer visits, trade fairs). Depending on experience, exposure to export markets (Asia, Africa) may also be possible.
Requirements

Engineering degree or Business School diploma

Minimum 5 years of experience in B2B sales of technical or industrial products

Fluency in Dutch, English, and French

Strong commercial skills with excellent communication abilities

Interest in wastewater treatment, environmental technologies, and industrial solutions
-
Proficient in Microsoft Office and professional social media tools (especially LinkedIn)
-
Results-driven, flexible, customer-oriented, and proactive
-
Team player with the ability to work independently

Experience in the wastewater or water treatment sector is a strong advantage
