Experience:

	<li style="margin: 0.0cm 0.0cm 8.0pt 36.0pt;">Knowledge with fabrication experience is desirable but not essential

Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Intro 
Jackson Hogg are pleased to be working exclusively with an exciting process engineering organisation in the search for a Shift Lab Technician. 
Role Description 
Carry out laboratory analysis to a defined analytical schedule with an active part in the running of the plant with sampling duties. Working with the production shift team to carry out the short-term &amp; instantaneous operational tasks needed to achieve the production plan for the plant, always adhering to strict safety standards. 
Responsibilities:
<ul>
	<li style="margin:0cm 0cm 8pt 36pt">Competent control &amp; operation of the laboratory equipment and wet chemistry. All of which require adherence to company procedures and job methods.</li>
	<li style="margin:0cm 0cm 8pt 36pt">Working within the production team, ensuring the provision of an analytical service infrastructure that ensures the effective and efficient execution of all sampling and testing requirements and the translation of these results into good operational decisions, minimising production losses.</li>
	<li style="margin:0cm 0cm 8pt 36pt">Contributing with training and validation of the production team.</li>
	<li style="margin:0cm 0cm 8pt 36pt">Ensure that analytical systems and processes are being used effectively, initiate improvements, validate measurements, and check results versus target.</li>
	<li style="margin:0cm 0cm 8pt 36pt">Responsibility for the calibration and accurate operation of analytical equipment.</li>
	<li style="margin:0cm 0cm 8pt 36pt">Ensure analytical equipment and processes are operational to meet the needs of the business.</li>

	<li style="margin:0cm 0cm 8pt 36pt">Raise any process or team issues the Lead Technician or Team Leader when necessary.</li>
	<li style="margin:0cm 0cm 8pt 36pt">Support the Team Leader in achieving production KPIs and completing daily operational activities.</li>
	<li style="margin:0cm 0cm 8pt 36pt">Liaise closely with control room operators to communicate plant conditions and coordinate operational changes.</li>
	<li style="margin:0cm 0cm 8pt 36pt">Perform maintenance and basic equipment troubleshooting.</li>
	<li style="margin:0cm 0cm 8pt 36pt">Contribute to the development of new operational areas and support business growth initiatives.</li>
	<li style="margin:0cm 0cm 8pt 36pt">Complete and thorough communication between shifts. This includes effective communication via the laboratory log and the production log system to ensure a smooth transition and common goals across the production shift teams.</li>

Experience:

	<li style="margin:0cm 0cm 8pt">BTEC/A levels or Equivalent in technical subjects.</li>
	<li style="margin:0cm 0cm 8pt">Minimum 5 years’ experience working within a production laboratory environment.</li>
	<li style="margin:0cm 0cm 8pt">Have attained the basic competencies in a range of analytical techniques.</li>
	<li style="margin:0cm 0cm 8pt">Positive track record, of providing training and mentorship.</li>

Senior / Principal Engineer 

Jackson Hogg is delighted to be recruiting a Senior level, or Principal level Engineer to join a specialist engineering organisation with a strong track record in delivering innovative solutions for hazardous and nuclear environments. 

As a Senior / Principal Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping projects from pre-concept stage through to delivery, ensuring engineered solutions meet the needs of multiple stakeholders and complex technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities

	Lead pre-concept and concept development for nuclear and hazardous environment projects as a Senior / Principal Engineer.

	Collate and manage requirements from multiple stakeholders to develop robust engineered solutions.

	Oversee equipment design, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic aspects, and guide design teams to deliver technical specifications.

	Mentor and develop junior engineers while contributing to organisational engineering practices.

Requirements

	Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng or above) with significant experience in the nuclear or hazardous environment sector.

	Proven track record in decommissioning projects, site operations, safety systems, and waste handling.

	Experience leading multi-stakeholder projects, capturing requirements, and generating actionable engineering solutions.
	
	<li>
	Strong understanding of detailed design and engineering processes, with familiarity in CAD and relevant engineering software.

	Excellent communication skills, including presenting complex engineering solutions and report writing.
	
	<li>
	Chartered Engineer status desirable; experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or multi-discipline engineering is advantageous.

Clean energy without limits

The organisation’s headcount plan was ambitious, and required an expanded recruitment capability to deliver it, but with varying recruitment volumes throughout the year, they needed a flexible solution. Geopura considered hiring an in-house recruiter, but the niche roles they were looking to fill, combined with the variability of their recruitment requirements and limited employer brand within the market meant that this solution wasn’t viable. They also considered expanding their use of recruitment agencies, but the unpredictable costs involved in this were difficult to align with their plans.

Geopura’s growth was starting to accelerate in 2022, but that came with its own problems

By placing one of our talent partners on-site, on a scalable basis from two to five days per week, we were able to optimise their recruitment process from start to finish and help them achieve their headcount plan. Our process started with an in-depth audit of their recruitment process, from job specification writing and job board usage analysis to interview technique and offer management. From there we took detailed briefs of the roles on offer and got to work sourcing candidates directly through our talent partner, with assistance from our wider, specialist recruitment team, and created a preferred supplierlist for the specialist roles we didn’t have the expertise to fill ourselves.

To assist Geopura in their ambitious growth journey, Jackson Hogg proposed our flagship Talent Partnership service.

Our talent partner assisted in creating an apprenticeship scheme to foster new talent, and by optimising the recruitment process and controlling all activities centrally, time to offer was reduced by 22%. This all allowed Geopurato achieve their headcount plans, continue their growth journey and focus on their innovative technologies rather than recruitment. Due to the success of their first 12 months, Geoupura extended their contract by a further 12 months.
