Project & Design Engineer – Bespoke Solutions

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading global manufacturer for an experienced Design Engineer to join their growing bespoke systems team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a high-performing engineering environment, designing bespoke systems for major projects across Building Services, Water Utilities and Industrial sectors. The business is expanding rapidly across the UK and Europe, offering genuine long-term progression and exposure to complex engineered solutions.

The Role

This role combines Design and Project Engineering, you will play a key role in specifying and designing customised pumping solutions from initial enquiry through to delivery and commissioning. You will work closely with internal departments and customers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.

This is a true end-to-end engineering role combining technical design, project coordination, costing input and production support.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret customer enquiries and develop technical solutions

• Provide technical and cost information to support sales and delivery processes

• Produce general arrangement drawings from customer specifications, including P&ID interpretation

• Generate accurate Bills of Materials and production documentation

• Support quick cost and sizing estimations for project orders

• Manage engineered project orders from enquiry through to commissioning

• Coordinate cross-functional project requirements across Engineering, Planning, Purchasing, Production and Logistics

• Support the Project Fulfilment Manager with project control activities

• Drive continuous improvement within project order processes

• Contribute to Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen initiatives

What We’re Looking For

• Degree qualified in Mechanical or Structural Engineering (preferred)
  OR ONC in a related discipline with strong relevant experience

• Experience delivering engineered products or project-based solutions

• Background in pumping systems or automotive engineering advantageous (not essential)

• Experience in new product introduction or project delivery

• Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD (Catia and Revit advantageous)

• Experience with ERP systems (SAP desirable)

• Strong Microsoft Office skills

• Process-driven, organised and commercially aware

• Excellent communication skills and customer focus

• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and within a team
