Temporary Samples Assistant

Pay Rate: £14.42 per hour
Contract: Temporary (Initial 1-2 months with potential for extension)

About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Temporary Samples Assistant to join a busy site in Thirsk. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong attention to detail who enjoys working in a structured, quality-focused environment.
The assignment is expected to last 1-2 months initially, with the possibility of being extended depending on business requirements.
Working as part of a small team, you will be responsible for accurately preparing, labelling and packaging food flavouring samples to meet customer requirements and fulfil orders. The role requires a high level of accuracy while ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and in line with food hygiene, quality and health & safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately weigh, prepare and package food flavouring samples.
- Ensure customer orders are completed within required timescales.
- Produce and check sample labels and associated documentation.
- Pack and dispatch samples in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain stock levels of packaging materials and consumables.
- Carry out regular stock checks and cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic work area.
- Follow all food safety, quality and health & safety procedures.
- Report any quality, stock or operational issues.
- Support wider operational activities as required.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable and organised approach to work.
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
- Good communication skills.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Ability to work efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to carry out repetitive tasks while maintaining high standards.
Desirable
- Previous experience within manufacturing, warehouse, production, laboratory or food environments.
- Experience handling stock or inventory.
- Knowledge of food hygiene standards.
- GCSEs or A Levels.
- Laboratory experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
