Software/ DevOps Engineer, Newcastle
Overview:
The DevOps Specialist will support the unification and automation of processes to improve performance and efficiency by defining, creating, and deploying tools and processes to support continuous integration and delivery activities.
The role involves ensuring compliance with data security and governance requirements while collaborating with developers, managers, and systems specialists across various departments and disciplines. Responsibilities span both commercial projects and internal research and development initiatives. A strong focus on software quality and best practices is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement DevOps tools and processes to enhance automation and integration
- Ensure software processes adhere to relevant data security and governance standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on client and internal projects
- Promote quality practices across all phases of the software lifecycle
Required Skills & Experience:
- Solid understanding of standard DevOps tools, components, and methodologies
- Strong foundation in software engineering techniques applicable to medium-sized systems
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated experience in configuring and managing DevOps pipelines and tools
- Proven ability to identify and resolve technical issues
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field
- Minimum of 3 years' industry experience in a similar role
- Exposure to a range of project environments
Additional Information:
- Full-time, permanent position (37.5 hours per week)
