Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the wider engineering team with assembly, test and fault finding relating to electronic and electrical systems.
- Work within a multi-disciplined engineering team to meet the project requirements and deliverables.
- Support build, commissioning, and trials of prototypes and new products.
- Execute electronic and electrical test requirements for both prototype and product manufacture.
- Troubleshoot and analyse problems. Producing ideas to solve them.
- Perform business duties such as efficient stock management, record keeping and test reports.
- Maintain a knowledge of current technical trends and innovation to assist in the development of current and future test and fault-finding methods.
- Work cross functionally (Commercial, Sales, Projects teams) within the business to improve efficiency and deliver effective products.
- Communicate professionally with fellow staff, directors, and clients.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Essential
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment within a relevant industry.
- Experience assembling and testing electronic and electrical equipment.
- Experience in assembling and testing electro-mechanical products.
- Experience in fault finding electronic and electrical equipment, using devices such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
- Experience of DC electrical systems.
- Ability to read and understand electronic and electrical schematics.
- Ability to understand cable harness drawings.
- Knowledge of MS office applications including Excel and Word.
- Experience working in a multi-disciplined engineering team.
- Collaborative ethos.
- Able to think laterally when problem solving.
- Ability to investigate and interpret data, issues, and situations, to make sound
- decisions in high-stress situations.
- Ability to communicate complex procedures to colleagues.

Desirable
- IPC-610 and IPC-620 certification.
- Experience using CAD packages such as E3, Altium and Inventor to review and
- understand designs.
- Knowledge of PLC’s and knowledge of CODESYS or similar PLC software.
- Knowledge of stock management systems and processes.

- As a defence contractor, we have a number of security obligations placed upon the Company, which means that all our staff must be able to successfully achieve the relevant security clearances.
- You will be expected to support in-house training programmes, as required.

Additional information outside of job description
- We would like applicants to be reliable and team players.
- New technical role focused on prototype build and test, emphasizing automotive wiring experience, low voltage DC (12/24V), and skills in control systems, interconnects, fault finding, and PCB repair. IPC 610/620 certification is desirable but not required. The role will involve both UK and international travel and will be the first of its kind in the team, with potential for future growth.
- The workload will be project-dependent, with collaboration between Richard's team and R&D. The new hire will sit in Richard's team to ensure alignment with production standards.
