Experienced Production Operative

Salary
£30,000 – £34,000 per annum, dependent on experience (DOE)
Hours of Work
- Day shift, Monday to Friday
- Flexible start times between 2:00am and 8:00am
- 8.5-hour shifts
Our client is a well-established and expanding manufacturing business based in Ripon. Due to continued growth and increased production demand, they are looking to recruit an experienced Production Operative to support their ongoing expansion. This is a hands-on role requiring solid production experience alongside the ability to assist with the maintenance and upkeep of production machinery. The successful candidate will become a key part of a growing operation offering long-term stability and progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate production machinery in line with company procedures and production schedules
- Assist with routine maintenance, basic fault finding, and first-line repairs on production equipment
- Carry out machine changeovers, setups, and adjustments as required
- Monitor machine performance and report defects, breakdowns, or safety concerns
- Ensure products meet quality standards and production targets
- Maintain accurate production and maintenance records where required
- Comply with all health & safety procedures and housekeeping standards
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Work closely with production, maintenance, and supervisory teams
- Proven experience as a Production Operative within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Experience assisting with machine maintenance, servicing, or mechanical adjustments
- Strong mechanical awareness and practical problem-solving ability
- Ability to work independently and show initiative
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Flexibility to start between 2:00am and 8:00am
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused approach
- Mechanical or engineering qualifications
- Experience with automated or semi-automated production machinery
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methods
- Competitive salary of £30,000 – £34,000 DOE
- Monday to Friday day shift pattern
