An established manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to lead health, safety, hygiene and environmental compliance at a large operational site in Rotherham.
The Role
- Full responsibility for site based health, safety, hygiene and environmental management
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant UK legislation, regulations and best practice
- Driving continuous improvement in safety culture and environmental performance
- Acting as the principal HSE lead for audits, regulators and external stakeholders
- Managing and developing onsite HSE systems, policies and procedures
- Providing leadership, training and guidance across all levels of the business
- Managing investigations into incidents, accidents and near misses
- Producing regular site level HSE and environmental performance reports
- Maintaining ISO 14001 accreditation and supporting internal and external audits
Key Responsibilities
- Lead risk assessments, COSHH, SSOW and permits to work
- Partner with production and engineering teams on equipment, machinery and process risk
- Chair and lead monthly HSE meetings and action plans
- Manage HSE induction and ongoing training programmes
- Oversee waste management, recycling programmes and environmental compliance
- Support carbon footprint and sustainability reporting through KPIs
- Manage documentation, certifications and statutory records
Ideal Candidate
- Proven HSE management experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong working knowledge of UK HSE and environmental legislation
- NEBOSH and IOSH qualified
- Experience supporting ISO 14001 and environmental management systems
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence across all levels
- Proactive, organised, and values driven
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel when required
