The management accountant role is a key member of the finance team, taking ownership of the monthly management accounts process at the North Shields site as well as ensuring excellence in compliance and adding value with business partnering, insightful analysis and reporting. This position is a high impact, visible role across the site and plays a pivotal role in providing data accuracy, governance and control and commercially focused reporting to support the organisations growth and profitability targets.

- Ownership of the month end process, including journal postings, balance sheet reconciliations, and group reporting
- Preparation of management accounts, providing insights into overheads and variance analysis of actual and forecast/budget.
- Support with budgeting and forecasting and partnering with operational teams to support and challenge.
- Preparation of VAT returns, including overseas transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Review of monthly payroll and preparation of annual returns
- Support the external audit and half year and year end group reporting requirements.
- Assist with other ad-hoc requests, providing management with key financial insights to support informed decisions.
- Lead value-add finance projects to enhance our current finance processes, ensuring they align with the business needs and drive improvement
Knowledge, skills and experience
- At least 3 years’ experience working in as a management accountant or similar role.
- You’ll have a proactive, can-do mindset, committed to delivering truly excellent results.
- You’ll have a continuous improvement attitude, eager to collaborate with others.
- You’ll be inquisitive and ambitious with an eagerness to learn.
- You’ll have strong communication skills, with the ability to present information effectively.
- You’ll be an active listener, who constructively challenges and collaborates as part of a team to deliver meaningful change.
Education and Certification Qualifications:
- Educated to A levels or equivalent.
- You’ll be ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified or actively studying towards final qualification.
