People Advisor, £41,000
Middlesbrough (hybrid working)
We are seeking an experienced and proactive People Advisor to join our People team. Working closely with the People Business Partner, you will deliver practical, business-focused HR solutions across designated business areas.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where you will provide expert guidance on people policies and processes, ensure consistency of approach, and build strong relationships with leaders and key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

Partner with the People Business Partner to support delivery of the people strategy within your business areas.

Provide expert advice and guidance on key employee relations matters, including:

Sickness absence management
-
Disciplinary and grievance processes
-
TUPE
-
Redundancy and organisational change
-
-
Support and coach line managers in the application of people policies and procedures.

Assist in planning and occasionally delivering training on core people processes and policies.

Provide pragmatic support on ad hoc people matters as they arise.

Collaborate closely with fellow People Advisors to ensure a consistent and fair approach across the business
Criteria:
-
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex processes and employment law in clear, accessible terms.

Solid knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
-
At least 2 years’ experience in an HR generalist or employee relations-focused role.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and remain decisive under pressure.
Desirable:
-
Experience working in a multi-site environment.
-
Exposure to TUPE and/or working within a unionised setting.

CIPD qualification (or working towards).

Additional requirements:

Willingness to travel between sites as required.

Ability to deliver training sessions and presentations.

Capacity to attend in-person meetings when necessary.

Occasional overnight stays may be required.
