Jackson Hogg Procurement & Supply Chain division are delighted to be partnering with an established and growing organisation in Newcastle on the appointment of a Procurement Officer to join their team on a fixed-term contract basis. The role will initially be for a 12-13 month fixed term contract but this could be extended due to covering maternity leave.
The Procurement Officer will support the procurement team in delivering its strategy by taking responsibility for procurement related activities, ultimately the right goods/services delivered to the right place at the right time from the right supplier.
The working hours are 37.5 hours per week with flexible start times between 08.00-09.30. The business offer hybrid working with a requirement to be in the office 2-3 days per week.

The Role:
- Maintain a quality vendor database to capture all contracts and vendors ensuring timely and adequate review.
- Developing and managing relationships with key suppliers to ensure the business receives commercially attractive terms, value for money and innovation in line with internal SRM processes.
- Managing and resolving day to day issues with suppliers in a timely and effective manner.
- Monitoring of supplier performance against contractual targets and KPI’s and taking appropriate action.
- Actively manage supply chain performance, source new supply solutions and challenge existing suppliers to identify continuous supply chain improvement and meet future needs.
- Support contract negotiation and implementation.
- Best practice benchmarking on vendor spend – ensuring value for money across the business.
- Coordinating stock/equipment for site acquisitions, disposals and capital projects.
- Support procurement operations for the mobilisation of new services.
- Stock management – including organising the annual stock count and most efficient use of stock across the business.
- Analysis of monthly invoices and managing queries with suppliers.
The Person/Specification:
- Previous procurement experience within a similar role
- Previously dealt with and managed suppliers
- Use of Business Central 365, other Microsoft products - desirable but not essential
- Immediately available for work and able to commit to a 12-13 month fixed term contract role to start in September 2025
