This role has been created to strengthen frontline leadership and improve consistency, safety and performance across shift operations. The Area Manager will have full ownership of people, production and standards within their area.
The role
You will lead cross?functional manufacturing teams and ensure production is delivered safely, to specification, on time and within cost. This is a visible, hands?on leadership role suited to someone who sets standards, develops people and drives continuous improvement on the shop floor.Key responsibilities
- Lead manufacturing and engineering support teams on shift
- Own Health & Safety performance, incident investigation and compliance
- Ensure GMP, BRC and ISO standards are maintained at all times
- Deliver production targets for safety, quality, service and cost
- Drive continuous improvement and lean ways of working
- Develop and coach team leaders, operators and technicians
- Manage labour, materials and inventory in line with the production plan
- Work closely with engineering to reduce downtime and improve reliability
About you
- Degree qualified or equivalent manufacturing experience
- At least 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- FMCG or other high?volume, regulated industry background
- Strong people leader with experience managing cross?functional teams
- Good working knowledge of lean manufacturing and CI tools
- Confident decision?maker with strong problem?solving skills
