Jackson Hogg is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced LGV Lorry Loader Driver (Class 2) to join their team based from the Newcastle depot.

This is an excellent opportunity for a professional driver with lorry loader experience to join a well-established business, delivering and collecting hire equipment safely and efficiently across customer sites throughout the region.

The Role

As an LGV Lorry Loader Driver, you will be responsible for the safe transportation, loading and unloading of equipment using a vehicle-mounted crane. You'll play a key role in maintaining excellent customer service standards while ensuring all transport and lifting operations are completed safely and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver and collect hire equipment to and from customer sites
• Operate a vehicle-mounted lorry loader crane safely and efficiently
• Carry out loading and unloading activities in line with company procedures
• Ensure loads are secured correctly before transport
• Conduct daily vehicle and equipment checks
• Complete all transport documentation accurately
• Follow planned delivery schedules and routes
• Maintain high standards of customer service on-site
• Report any equipment defects, vehicle issues or customer concerns
• Adhere to all health, safety and transport legislation

Candidate Requirements

Essential

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence
• Valid Driver CPC
• Digital Tachograph Card
• Previous experience operating an LGV vehicle
• Experience using a lorry loader crane (HIAB or equivalent)
• Good understanding of transport and site safety requirements
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively

Desirable

• HIAB / Lorry Loader certification
• Previous experience within the plant hire, tool hire, construction or logistics sectors
• Good geographical knowledge of the North East region
