- Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate global marine operational activity, ensuring safe, compliant, customer-focused, and reliable service delivery.
- Act as a visible safety leader, championing the company’s Life Saving Rules and promoting a strong safety culture.
- Set and uphold clear marine safety expectations, including disciplined planning, risk control, operational readiness, and post-operation review.
- Ensure all operational processes, procedures, and risk assessments are developed, maintained, and consistently applied to a high standard.
- Maintain full compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, and industry standards, including those relating to ship?to?ship transfer operations.
- Drive operational excellence by setting clear standards, monitoring performance, and embedding continuous improvement.
- Provide operational input into tenders, proposals, client discussions, and new project mobilisation.
- Coordinate operations, technical, superintendents and mooring masters to ensure each operation is suitably supported.
- Lead incident reporting, investigation, and learning processes, ensuring lessons learned are incorporated into future operations.
- Report operational performance, marine resource status, HSEQ trends, corrective actions, and key risks to the Head of Operations EMEA and Asia.
- Governance, Risk, Compliance and Authority
- Ensure robust operational governance frameworks are in place with clear accountability and escalation routes.
- Proactively identify, assess, and manage operational risks, implementing effective controls and mitigations.
- Maintain readiness for audits, inspections, and reviews, ensuring alignment with recognised marine standards, the Ship to Ship Transfer Guide, OCIMF guidance, and SIGTTO standards where applicable.
- Maintain accurate, auditable operational records to support compliance and continuous improvement.
- Operate within delegated authority limits, escalating material safety, risk, resource, or service delivery issues as required.
- Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Significant experience in marine, STS, offshore, terminal, tanker, energy, or logistics operations, including coordination of operational and technical resources.
- Strong working knowledge of ship-to-ship transfer operations and the associated regulatory framework.
- Experience leading or coordinating safe marine operations in regulated or high-risk environments.
- Proven ability to develop and implement operational procedures, risk assessments, and control measures.
- Marine qualification, degree-level qualification, or equivalent relevant professional experience supported by strong practical marine judgement.
- Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- LNG operations, LNG STS, gas carrier interface knowledge, and SIGTTO awareness preferred.
- Familiarity with OCIMF guidance, the Ship to Ship Transfer Guide, and recognised marine industry standards.
- Lead auditor, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, HSEQ, incident investigation, or audit exposure.
- Experience supporting tenders, client technical discussions, or new marine project mobilisation.
