Material Handler
Location: Oldbury, West Midlands
Salary: £20.00 per hour (dependent on relevant experience)
Hours: 38 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 07:45 – 16:06
Lunch Break: 45 minutes unpaid per day
The Role
We are seeking a Material Handler to join a busy manufacturing operation in Oldbury. This role will support the efficient movement, packing, loading, and handling of raw materials and finished products, ensuring all activities are carried out safely and in accordance with site procedures.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining material flow throughout the site while supporting production operations and ensuring high standards of housekeeping, quality, and safety are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Packing products into drums and IBCs.
- Unpacking raw materials into designated storage areas and tanks.
- Moving materials, drums, and IBCs safely around site.
- Loading finished products for dispatch, including tanker loading activities where required.
- Completing operational documentation, including packing sheets, loading records, and housekeeping checklists.
- Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards across the site.
- Supporting production teams with operational activities as required.
- Following all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Reporting any safety concerns, equipment issues, or process deviations promptly.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong awareness of health and safety in a manufacturing environment.
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- GCSEs in English, Maths, or equivalent qualifications.
Desirable
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, chemical, process, warehouse, or industrial environment.
- Experience handling raw materials and finished products.
- Basic IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office.
