Overview
Are you proficent with Autodesk Inventor and want to transition into the Offshore sector? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Draughtsperson to join a growing engineering team working on complex, high?integrity mechanical equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate 2D and 3D drawings, supporting project engineering activities, and ensuring all deliverables meet required technical and quality standards.
This role is ideal for someone with strong Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD experience who enjoys working across multi?discipline engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and check high?quality engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
- Create and manage 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings.
- Plan and deliver day?to?day draughting tasks for assigned projects.
- Support Project Engineers and Project Managers with technical input and documentation.
- Ensure all drawings comply with internal standards, specifications, and project requirements.
- Participate in design reviews and assist with implementing agreed actions.
- Monitor progress of drawing deliverables, highlighting risks around schedule, cost or technical issues.
- Support continuous improvement activities and product development initiatives.
- Prepare technical information for manuals, ITPs, and other engineering documentation.
- Maintain accurate drawing registers and project documentation in line with quality system requirements (e.g. ISO 9001).
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Design Draughting.
- Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD (essential).
- Experience producing 2D & 3D engineering drawings to industry standards.
- Exposure to mechanical or offshore/industrial equipment is advantageous but not essential.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a multi?discipline engineering environment.
- Strong organisation skills, able to plan and manage personal workload independently.
- Proactive, self?motivated and adaptable to changing project demands.
Qualifications
- HNC in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent).
- Recognised engineering apprenticeship beneficial but not required.
