About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a leading precision oncology organisation at the forefront of personalised cancer care. Through advanced genomic testing and highly sensitive MRD detection technologies, the company is reshaping how cancer is monitored and treated across the patient journey.
Due to continued growth and increasing demand, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Medical Science Liaison to join their Medical Affairs team.
The Role
As a Senior MSL, you will act as a trusted scientific leader in the field, supporting a cutting-edge oncology genomics portfolio with a strong emphasis on tumour-informed ctDNA and MRD testing.
You will drive high-value scientific engagement with key external experts, influence clinical adoption, and contribute strategically to medical and cross-functional initiatives. This role also plays a critical part in mentoring less experienced team members and shaping field medical activities.
Key Responsibilities
Scientific Leadership & Engagement
- Deliver high-quality, data-driven scientific presentations to oncologists, researchers, and academic institutions
- Translate complex genomic and clinical evidence into clear, actionable insights
- Act as a subject matter expert across MRD, ctDNA, and precision oncology
KOL Strategy & Relationship Management
- Build and lead relationships with national and regional key opinion leaders
- Develop and execute KOL engagement plans aligned to medical strategy
- Identify and drive opportunities for advisory boards, collaborations, and speaking engagements
Clinical Advocacy & External Representation
- Represent the organisation at major congresses, symposia, and scientific forums
- Support investigators with data presentations, publications, and educational initiatives
- Lead scientific workshops, roundtables, and peer-to-peer engagement activities
Field Leadership
- Operate autonomously across the territory while aligning closely with medical and commercial teams
- Travel ~50% to engage stakeholders and support field initiatives
Additional Responsibilities
Clinical Research & Evidence Generation
- Lead identification and engagement of key trial sites and investigators
- Support both company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies
- Provide strategic scientific input across study lifecycle
Medical Strategy & Content Development
- Contribute to medical strategy through insights and scientific expertise
- Review and develop high-quality materials (publications, training content, presentations)
- Ensure scientific accuracy and compliance across all outputs
Insights & Market Intelligence
- Capture and synthesise field insights to inform internal stakeholders
- Monitor evolving data, competitive landscape, and clinical guidelines
- Partner cross-functionally to influence product development and positioning
Candidate Profile
Education
- Advanced scientific or clinical degree (PhD, PharmD, MD or equivalent) strongly preferred
- Master’s degree minimum in a relevant discipline
Experience & Expertise
- ~3+ years’ experience in oncology, genomics, or precision medicine
- Prior MSL experience strongly preferred (or equivalent field medical role)
- Deep understanding of cancer biology, genomics, biomarkers, and liquid biopsy technologies
