If you’re an experienced Material Planner with a strong knowledge of MRP, inventory control and supplier management, this could be a great opportunity to step into a key supply chain role within manufacturing.
Jackson Hogg is supporting a well-established manufacturing business in their search for a Materials Planner to support production requirements through effective materials planning, forecasting and inventory management.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll take ownership of material availability across the site, working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure production targets are met while controlling cost and stock levels.
Role & Responsibilities
- Create and manage purchase orders in line with MRP, including expediting, deferring and cancelling as required
- Plan and forecast material requirements to support production schedules and customer demand
- Control inventory levels
- Monitor supplier performance and manage day-to-day supplier relationships
- Escalate supply issues and delays through Supply Chain and Procurement where required
- Review and manage lead times and order increments in line with demand forecasts
- Manage imports and associated shipping documentation
- Produce monthly forecasts
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in materials planning or supply chain within a manufacturing environment
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or MS Dynamics
- Solid understanding of MRP, inventory management and forecasting principles
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to manage suppliers and internal stakeholders
