Overview
A growing technical services organisation is seeking an experienced Contracts Specialist to support commercial activity, manage contract risk and ensure the smooth delivery of projects across a diverse client base. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across multiple teams, improving processes, and taking ownership of commercial documentation and contract administration.
You’ll join a collaborative, ambitious business operating across key UK regions including the North East, North West, Humber and Scotland, supporting clients in sectors such as Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Oil & Gas, Food, Bulk Storage & Distribution, Renewables and Energy.

Key Responsibilities
- Commercial onboarding of new clients and suppliers, including due diligence and approval processes.
- Reviewing and assisting with negotiations of contracts, terms & conditions, frameworks and amendments, escalating complex issues where required.
- Preparing contract summaries, identifying key risks, obligations and commercial considerations.
- Supporting bids, tenders and proposals, including reviewing commercial terms, pricing structures and contractual requirements.
- Coordinating supplier and subcontractor documentation, ensuring compliance with agreed terms and internal processes.
- Providing contract administration support to project teams, including tracking obligations, variations, renewals and correspondence.
- Assisting with dispute avoidance and issue resolution, escalating where needed.
- Maintaining contract registers, templates and commercial documentation, ensuring accuracy and version control.
- Supporting governance and compliance activities, including audits and internal approval workflows.
- Building strong working relationships with internal teams, clients and suppliers.
- Contributing to continuous improvement of commercial processes, templates and procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in contract administration, commercial support or contract review.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines.
- Confident, professional communication skills when dealing with clients and suppliers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable working with commercial documentation.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally.
- Experience supporting contract negotiations or commercial risk assessments.
- Understanding of pricing structures, framework agreements or technical service contracts.
- Awareness of sectors such as Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Oil & Gas, Food, Bulk Storage & Distribution, Renewables and Energy.
