The Opportunity
We are partnering with an innovative maritime technology business to hire a Sales Manager (Defence/Government) to drive growth across the US market.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage trusted relationships with key defence and government stakeholders, including naval organisations, shipyards, system integrators, and autonomous vessel manufacturers
- Drive both direct and indirect sales across the region, aligned with strategic goals
- Develop a deep understanding of regional maritime market requirements
- Grow and support a network of distributors, dealers, and strategic partners
- Act as the regional bridge between customers and internal teams
- Play a key role in securing tenders and public sector contracts, converting opportunities into long-term partnerships
- Deliver accurate sales forecasting and reporting using defined KPIs
- Represent the business at relevant industry events and conferences
- Support adjacent maritime sectors where required
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in defence/government sales within the maritime sector
- Strong track record in solution-based and value-led selling
- Experience managing complex, strategic accounts
- Degree in business, marketing, or a related field
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across global markets
- Proven negotiation and influencing capability (experience with Challenger or similar methodologies advantageous)
- Highly proactive, results-driven, and comfortable generating new business opportunities
- Established network within the maritime/defence ecosystem
- Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment
- Willingness to travel across the US and occasionally internationally
- Fluent English (additional languages beneficial)
