About the Role
We are partnered with a rapidly scaling, venture-backed Energy AI company transforming how industrial operators optimise performance, reduce emissions, and unlock operational intelligence.
Following significant commercial traction and strategic engagement with senior leadership at globally recognised technology leaders, our client is entering a critical growth phase and is seeking a VP of Sales to build and lead its global commercial organisation.
The Opportunity
This is a high-impact executive role with full ownership of revenue generation and commercial strategy.
The successful candidate will:
- Define and execute a global sales strategy across energy, oil & gas, and chemicals
- Build, lead, and scale a high-performing international sales team
- Engage directly with C-level stakeholders across major industrial enterprises
- Shape the company’s commercial model, pricing, and market positioning
- Play a key role in driving the business toward category leadership

Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy & Leadership
- Own and deliver the global revenue strategy and sales targets
- Define go-to-market approaches across core verticals (energy, oil & gas, chemicals)
- Establish scalable sales processes, forecasting, and performance metrics
- Partner with the executive team on overall business strategy and growth planning
Sales Execution
- Lead complex, high-value enterprise sales cycles with global industrial organisations
- Engage with senior executives and decision-makers across operations, digital, and sustainability functions
- Drive new business acquisition while expanding strategic accounts
- Develop and refine pricing, deal structures, and commercial frameworks
Team Building & Scaling
- Recruit, develop, and lead a world-class sales organisation
- Build regional sales coverage aligned to key markets
- Implement best-in-class sales enablement, tooling, and CRM discipline
Strategic Relationships & Partnerships
- Build long-term relationships with senior stakeholders across target industries
- Leverage and expand strategic ecosystems, including partnerships with leading technology and cloud providers
- Represent the company at global industry forums and executive-level engagements
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with product and engineering teams to align solutions with customer needs
- Feed market insights into product roadmap and positioning
- Collaborate with marketing on demand generation and brand positioning
Candidate Requirements
Experience
- 10–15+ years of enterprise sales experience within:
- Energy, oil & gas, chemicals, or industrial technology
- Proven track record of building and scaling high-performing sales teams
- Demonstrated success closing large, complex enterprise deals ($1M+)
- Experience working within or selling AI, data, SaaS, or digital solutions into industrial markets
Industry Knowledge
- Strong understanding of:
- Energy and industrial value chains
- Operational challenges in oil & gas and chemicals
- Digital transformation and AI adoption in heavy industry
Skills
- Exceptional leadership and team-building capability
- Strong executive presence and stakeholder management at C-suite level
- Strategic thinker with deep commercial acumen
- Data-driven and highly execution-oriented
Other
- Willingness to travel internationally as required
- Experience operating in high-growth or start-up environments is highly advantageous
